2 primary ways. One the most common, water purification is either damaged or destroyed. Two, either the enemy or friendly forces [in order to deny water to the enemy] purposely contaminate water with biological agents [normally dead animals] or chemicals [pesticides, oil etc]. Purposely contaminating water is against the Laws of War. |
