i understand they are very short staffed, especially in the submarine sector... but it still wouldnt be terribly easy to get into would it?

i want to be an electronics technician submariner

As long as you meet the intellectual and physical requirements it wouldn't be that difficult, like you said their terribly short staffed of skilled personnel.
