How is our military going to respond to more attacks by pirates, who want revenge?

we have like the best military system right now. Wonder why were so much in debt? thats mostly military spending. I think we can handle it.

it's more about money. Companies alone last year gave 80 millions dollars to these pirates.

Just remember America has a to do list:
- Iraq
- Afganistan
- Silly pirates

I think we will eventually reintroduce shipping convoys like we had in WWII. These rely both on safety in numbers and military escorts.

Its not a military job.

We must allow ships to protect themselves. As of now, it is illegal for ships to have armed security.

If one wants to do business, they must afford the proper security they desire. If the think pirates are a threat, they must be armed to deal with that threat.

Remember, a few armed security members on a ship, so massive it seems still, can aim much better than a small boat bobbing around in the water whos occupants cant hit a 100ft target.

First, this should be a joint venture with our "friends" and not go it alone which would provide more propaganda material. They would hold it up as evidence that we are at war with Islam, dark skinned nations, misunderstood teenagers joy riding in speed boats, etc.
Then, search out and destroy/capture the "mother ships" needed to support the pirates.
Identify and hit their land bases.
Screw the countries (and UN) when they condemn our "aggression".
Have a truce period to allow the captured ships and hostages released in exchange for a cease fire.
Tell them the same will happen if they continue or re-start the attacks.
