My husband was discharged and never used his GI Bill. It think it is too late to use though. He was honorably discharged in November 1991 from active duty. He served in Desert Storm and Desert Shield. Dont know if that makes a difference... probably not... but thought I would throw out the info.

It is 10 years. If he was medically discharged he can apply for Chap 31 education benefits. Best of luck to you |

You have 10 years to use it ONCE you LEAVE the service. So he had until 2001 to use it but can no longer do so.

In his case 10 years. He's one of the ones who never use a dime of the benefit he paid into and subsidized people like me who used almost all of their benefit. Tell him thanks.
