Like I want to go to the USNA, so how long would I have to stay in the Force Recon Marines until I can apply for the USNA? (I want to fight for my country before I work at my career.)

No longer do 1st nor 2nd Force Recon (FORECON) Company exists [sigh!]. The reserve components are the only ones that are still around, the 3rd and 4th "companies".
Since the "Companies" were still in existence, we were given the option of staying in with FORECON after our rotation, or go back to our previous unit whom we were before we were recon Marines. During my time at that moment, we didn't require to be in Division Recon or Infantry, you could been Admin POG...as long you could pass its Indoc. They had a demand quota while I was trying out, so they allowed anyone to enter.
It can be your entire career or the 5-year tenure. However, if you want to be an officer in FORECON, you'll be forfeiting your time as an operator. Officers don't go out with the teams/platoons normally, although rarely it may happen under operational status. They remained behind in the joint S-3/S-6 (Operations/Communications) shop where they can report the teams success/failures directly to the SRIG - the Surveillance, Reconnaissance, and Intelligence Group.
However during training, the Officers will accompany their platoons. The Officers in FORECON are not mostly recon Marines, anyhow...they are mostly Infantry or Ground Intel Officers that had completed the Basic Recon Course. They obtain the MOS 8654 billet as any other force recon Marine, but they are not billeted as the enlisted MOS 0321; as the operators. The 0321 also has the 8654 designation in Force Recon. |

If you are enlisted you can stay in for your entire career if you want to. If you are an officer, you are only on Active Teams for the duration of O-1 through O-3. After your initial tour as an O-3, you will generally be selected for a command spot, and no longer be on an active team, however you could possibly be commanding those on active teams. |
