How long is my DD368 supposed to take (Conditional release from Army NG)?

About two weeks ago I turned in my DD368 with a request to the Navy. A few days later, I recieved a DD4187 from my Company Commander (Captain rank). My chain of command informed me that the DD4187 and the DD368 had to go up to Battalion. So that was last week. I'm sure the mail is already there. It's innerstate mail which takes 1-3 days. How long will it take for my General to sign this, and send it back? I mean, if it's already there, all he has to do is sign, right? Also, what's the need for a DD4187? I thought all I needed was a DD368?
I'm also National Guard. Thanks in advance.

Most Commander's are party timers just like you so probably 1-2 drill weekends or 1 - 2 months until they get around to signing them. If you are Guard your state;s Chief of Staff usually approves them for the TAG. |

368's depends on the State,.,, RI 368 can be signed by Company Commanders, while other states have to go to the TAG. The state DOES not have to allow you to leave and thus you are stuck... It can take up to a year, and depending on what was put for the expiration date on the 368, you may need to get a new one |
