Mine didn't get to write right away or even read the ones I sent. They made him wait about 2 1/2 weeks before he could write or read letters. He will write, believe me!! Also, he is being totally broken down too so he will be thinking of you and missing you a ton! Time will seem slow but will pass. Keep yourself busy! I cried the whole first day myself. It gets a little easier though. Keep writing him every day and tell him about your day and what you've been up to. Make sure you support him and tell him how proud of him you are. Mine left on May 18 to go to Fort Benning and i still haven't recieved anything, from his commanding officer or anyone. Its hard for the first week! So be strong :D |

it depends.. one time i got my bfs letter like a month after he sent it.. he was worried that i moved on and forgot about him.. but it usually only took a week.. and thats from north carolina to iowa. Dont worry though, he'll write :) |

Once it gets into the USPS system, it should only take two days. But keep in mind that he will be working some very long hours in basic and will be exhausted. Don't wait by the mailbox, don't give him grief with "why haven't you written", and cherish every letter you get. Take care. |
