Civilians? Somewhere between 43,000 and 50,000. Last numbers updated in March of 06. Including Saddam's army and Iraqi resistance, somewhere in the neighborhood of 120,000.

The real answer is likely somewhere between 250,000 and 350,000. The assertion that they weren't caused by Bush and his "False war" is absurd. The beloved democrats voted for this war and wouldn't be condeming it if it didn't give them a perceived political gain. Secondly, after the initial invasion and bombing most of the civilian deaths have been caused by suicide bombers and terrorist, not by coalition bullets and bombs.

Too many; obviously. But it would be far less if the terrorists, insurgent, freedom fighters what ever you want to call them would stop blowing up Iraqi civilians at schools, power plant, funerals, mosques and along the roadside.

And John_Stol..., you say the Pentagon estimates 125,000? Could you cite your source? And the UN count....please, the UN?

As for www.iraqbodycount.net? When I was in Iraq had watched that website every now and then. Have you researched who manages that site and where they receive their information? They at least (small print) admit that they have no way of validating the information they display. And that some of their "sources"are unreliable and that these counts are not all the result of US military action.

Why is it so easy for so many people to believe what they read on the Internet.

7 of the 50 convoys I traveled in during my time in Iraq were hit by IEDs. I was in downtown Baghdad when a car bomb went off 2 blocks away and still can see the body parts on the ground as we went to render aide....and I was a civilian. The Iraqis killed were killed other Iraqi's and non-Iraqi terrorists in the country.

And sorry, Saddam would still b e killing his people if he was still in power.

Estimate between 30,000 and 100,000 no way of really telling as the U.S. government does not count all of the deaths such as car bombing as being killed as a result of the war. Men, woman, and children dead many of them innocent citizens. It has been 50 or more a day for quite some time now. I am not sure that it is worth it.

between 125,000 (Pentagon estimate) and 1,250,000 (UN estimate). We don't do body counts...

I have heard the number of 35,000 to 85,000 since we stopped bombing them and they started bombing each-other. It is definitely WAY WAY WAY more than Saddam could or would have done.

Now the war in Iraq is a different story, most estimates have it at about 100,000

No one will ever know.Just as know one will ever know how many died as a result of terror. Saddam didn't keep track of all the deaths, just the ones he tortured first. Their deaths didn't mean anything to most liberals though, after all, they had no political value, and you couldn't even buy a latte with a dead Iraqi child. But the important thing is we didn't find any WMD.

Look it up. How many times has that question been asked? How many marines died at Iwo Jima in WW2? How many Russians died at Stalingrad? How many Brits died in North Africa? How many people die in auto accidents in the USA each month? And so forth. Comprendo?
