America and the UK work together as a partnership of the willing, not because one necessarily NEEDS the other. You do England as much dishonor with this question as you do America. BOTH militaries are smashingly capable and able to win wars on their own, but due to our strong national bonds we help each other to victory. |

We in the Uk have a special relationship with the US of A. don't ask these questions. |

Real wars egh, tell the families of those who dies that one!
Anyways since WWI, this is a BS question. There have been very few conflicts we have not helped each other out with in some way! Not because the other needed it, but because of our alliance. There is a reason for this, because we a such good allies, with common beliefs!
This question has no real merit other than to instigate problems between some people in the greatest alliance in history! This craps on the history and pride of both the US and UK, as well as Canada and Austalia who have been right there more times than not as well. |

You are nothing more than a sh!t stirring twit. Enough people, both UK and USA, have stated the US helped the UK in the major wars and even some of the smaller ones all through the last century. Why would you ask such a question ? A sort of inferiority complex ? We are two peoples with a long tradition of mutual aid, just sit back relax and WE 'll keep you safe. |

Well we beat you in 1776 without your assistance. The war of 1812. Mexican American War, War with Spain, The Barbary Wars, War with the Indians, I would need to look up all of the other wars we won without you. BUT WHATS YOUR POINT? We welcome and appreciate all that the British have done in this world. The British SAS did a pre game Paratroopers landing at last American football game I attended in San Diego and everyone cheered them. |

In a nutshell - not one.......
1. Invasion of GRENADA (1983) (British colony) - technically under the rules of membership of NATO, all member states should have declared war against the US. Invade a sovereign country to rescue a few schoolkids, oh, and get Clint Eastwood to save the day!!
2. Invasion of PANAMA (1989) - Invade a sovereign country to kidnap a legal head of state.... an illegal act under the terms of the Geneva Convention - a document that the US Government insisted on, but which has blatantly ignored since its' conception
3. War of Independence (1775-76) - Best thing we ever did getting out of that hell-hole. If we'd have stayed just think how more civilised the Yanks would be. |

It's kind of a trick question, isn't it? England was involved in WW I and WW II first, desperately hoping for US assistance (read Churchill's memoirs to refresh your memory - you do know who Churchill was?), so when the US did enter those wars, it automaticall became a case of them assisting each other in the fight.
However, to be entirely accurate; England could not have won WW II without US intervention, they didn't even have enough equipment to fight with. I've seen lots of pictures of UK recruits training in 1940 with broom handles for guns, and I have an old book that details some of the bizarre weapons your ancestors were concocting for use in case of a Nazi invasion (remember the 'Sticky Bomb'?, or the 'PIAT'?). Those were desparate measures for a desperate people.
The Uk even resorted to cinmatic propaganda to try and tilt the US into the war (remember the movie 'Mrs. Miniver', which was pushed heavily here in the US, and ran in thousands of theatres?).
Churchill was sitting at a dinner table eating with guests when word of the US' declaration of war against Germany came in.
He kind of chuckled out loud and said "I feel sorry for any poor son of a b**th that is dumb enough to declare war on the United States of America!".
So, I'd say that kind of sums up the attitude of who helped who in WWII.
I won't go into the rest, you guys were against us until 1865 (the UK even looked at ways of helping the rebels), and we've only fought in a few together since. And you were nowhere to be seen in 'Nam. |

i think you have to ask how many wars the british has won with the assistance of the US. however when the parachute
regiment was formed britain began to hold there own. ie
the falklands, the rescue of british soldiers in sierra leon,
afghanistan, iraq, kosovo and then the rest. |

TROLL QUESTION:
I think you will find that the U.S.A. with all the military supplies it gave to various countries, as well as the vast contribution of men and material was the one who gave the most assistance, they came to the aid of many nations including the U.K.
You need to do more military history research before trying and failing to be a troll. |

It doesn't matter how the Revolutionary War was won..we won it, period.
It seems to me that Britain needs the US much more than the US needs them. |

The only one that mattered....The Revolutionary War!!!!!! Better question would be "How many wars has the British won without assistance from America?" |

There is a distinct difference of tactics.
The British will win over the hearts and minds of the people in order to gain success.
The Americans will order success and get **** on.
The English have taken over the world before without too many major battles.
Yanks have a lot to learn as all new armies do. |
|

 |
How many wars have the British won without American assistance?
The difference is the Americans never need the Brits to win a war. They generally just bring them along to appease the world community.
But without the Americans, the British would have lost the major wars of the last century. |
