if its the UK Army, your talking about, you CAN, but its alot of money to pay them back for the training you received.
my brother was in the Life guards for 2.5 years. cost him over £16K if he wanted to leave. he decided to stay. |

In the US, you can't. I have a large bank account, and they could care less, and I accordingly wouldn't want to leave anyhow. In the example of they guy that won the lottery, he was discharged for other reasons. He did not buy his way out. If you don't want to be in the military, just don't join. Its not the type of thing to second guess yourself about. |

You must do aminimum of 3 years before you can apply to buy yourself out and even then it is pretty expensive. |

For all of you that think you can't buy your way out of the military, think again.
Two good examples
A guy was in for two years and won the Mega-millions jackpot. He got out. I guarrantee it cost him.
Riddock Bowe joined the USMC in 1996, and was out of boot camp within two weeks. His reason - He changed his mind. Yeah right. Buy out baby! |

Hasen't been done since the Civil War. Thing is not to join after that it is to late. Unless your family are Republican members of Congress or the Senate. |

you can't buy yourself out. you could get a medical discharge or a dishonorable discharge. if you want to be a quitter the military doesn't want you anyways, it's bad for morale |
