How much leverage could a bachelors in liberal arts give me in becoming an officer for the Air Force?

Also if I scored high on the ASVAB will that cause an increase in rank?

It really depends. But whoever says that all AF officer's have technical degrees is incorrect. I have a BA in English, and a lot of the folks I commissioned with had other non-tech degrees. It's probably about a 50-50, or maybe 40-60 split, of non-technical degrees to engineering, math, and science majors.

You won't be a test pilot with a liberal arts degree, or an astronaut, but that's probably about it.

The Air Force is a diverse world, and there are lots of different degrees that can help you. Talk to a recruiter--the biggest problem is getting a slot to go to OTS--there's only so many spaces available.

Zilch.

you have as much chance to get to be an officer and any one..same training.

It doesn't matter what your bachelor's is in....to the military, a bachelors is a bachelors. You have the same chances as someone with a bachelor's in sewing.

If you come into the military with a BA (regardless of major) it will most often lead to officer training. You have to sign up for the program. You could start as a 2nd Leiutenant, if I remember correctly.

None. Everyone here is wrong. The AF DOES care what your degree is in. These days AF Officers have Technical degree with a GPA of at least 3.2. Gone are the days of having a degree in Greek Mythology and becoming an Officer. A Lib Arts degree isn't going to get you an Officer's slot. It will get you enlisted at E-3 though.

your educational background helps you but it doesn't have anything to do with your ranking. The ASVAB is just used for your job placement. Your ranking is based on your service and bravery and other things.

Like someone else mentioned, it doesn't matter what your degree you hold to be an officer in the military, it can be any BA or BS. A 4 year degree is a 4 year degree.

A high score will not cause an increase in rank or give you a promotion. That is used to assign someone a job upon entering the military. You will have to move up in rank like everyone else.

Not as much as someone with a degree in business administration or the sciences.
