if we brought home US military forces deployed in;
Japan 47,000 US military personnel
Europe 92,000 US military personnel
Korea 25,000 US military personnel
Aren't these deployments old world or has the Taliban invaded Europe and East Asia?

The would live in work in the US like soldiers already stationed here. The would buy housing, cars and goods here in the US. The US spends billions maintaining these bases and their infrastructure.....you have a strange notion of failure.

And how exactly do we save money by bringing them home from those places?
They still have to live somewhere here in the USA and they still train and do the exact same stuff they do over there.
Most of those troops are NOT deployed, they are stationed there, which is the same as being stationed here in the USA.
The host nations also pick up much of the tab.

We would save by what - reducing the employment of these soldiers - 175,000 more unemployed - not good stimulus. |
