yes i know that being shot is not like a picnic. hell, i got shot with an airsoft gun and it hurt. i just want to serve my country, thats what i mean by not minding getting shot. as long as i serve my country im happy.

I have been in the Army for 19 years now, and am a former Ranger and have only been shot once, and please believe me, that you WILL mind being shot, no matter the location of the wound. All fantasies of being heroic and carrying on and saving your buddy are gone, only that pain that radiates throughout your whole body. It's nothing like the movies. I wish I could say I was heroic, but no, I dropped like a stone and had to be carried to a medic. As for the rest of your question, a majority of injuries and deaths in Iraq/Afghanistan have typically come from accidents, not combat. But again, you might want to change your thoughts about being shot, it's no picnic. |

your have a better chance in your city of being killed either by getting shot or getting in a car wreck then you do then dieing in iraq. theres always that chance with of death with just being alive. Iraq is kinda calming down but theres still that chance. Good Luck and that for Serving. |

it depends on the scale of violence of the war at the time. during ww2 the usa lost over 400,000 men. the russian lost 25 million soldiers. and that war lasted exactly 6 years and 1 day. the war in the middle east has be going on for 6 years now and we've lost over 4000 men |
