I had just turned 19 entered the army feb 9th 1971 ,..Basic training was much harder than it is now ,men had a much higher standard then ,and trained seperatly . drill sgts could hit you and kick you then . they were tough but it was war.. It was better to be beaten by them ,than killed by the enemy,... It was the best thing i ever did in my life. |

25/navy then went navy-to-army(they call it blue to green) last september of 2008. Wish i've done it earlier thou. but i see alot of 30+ even 40+ guys going to army for the very first time. If you think you're too old to join the military, i think navy and airforce recruits 35 years old and younger but army, i think they dont care as long as you can run and do physical stuff. oh yeah, if you're 17 thou, one of your parents has to sign a waiver for you to join the military. hope this helps. |
