How soon after my husband has been assigned to his first duty base in the US Army can he be deployed overseas?

He's prior service USAF and recent signed a 3 yr. contract with the US Army as an 11X Airborne Infantry recruit (rank E04), we still don't know where his first duty assignment is going to be even though I've heard it's likely to be Ft. Bragg. I've read that you must be 12 months stateside when you first enlist before you are eligible to move to an overseas location, but I'm assuming that's entirely unrelated to how soon he could deploy. Is there a possibly he'll have to deploy very soon after we begin living at our first duty assignment?

He is Airborne. He will deploy soon and alot. That is the fact. I did 3 deployments on a 4 year contract. 10 months, 13 months and 15 months. |

Until his contract is up...he is property of the US Government.
Yes they can and will send him where and when they please.
Thank you for your husband's (and yours too). I appreciate all that he does and hope he comes home safe. |

immediately. it just depends on what unit he is assigned to and whether or not they are already gone or will be going soon or almost done with their deployment on coming home. |

You must be on station a minimum of 12 months before you can PCS, without a waiver from the Secretary of the relevant branch of service.
That does not apply to deployments, only PCSs.
Air Force policy is that you will not deploy prior to 45 days on station to allow the member time to inprocess, locate housing etc.
However, that too is waiverable. |
