How to define "victory"?

how is it envisioned that a perpetual bombing campaign will win hearts and minds or find "bin laden" (or whoever they pretend to "look for")?

What is the endgame of a "bomb them till they love us" strategy? Genocide?

An excellent question and the simple answer is it won't. Victory is defined by what you set out to achieve in the first place. This is laid out in the fundamental principles of war "selection & maintenance of the aim". Unfortunately in the current Afghan campaign, which I think you are eluding to, is a Classic example of the aim constantly changing.

purpetual bombing? We bomb when our boys on the ground need help! what would be the point of perpetual bombing! the terrorists are the ones bombing! maybe not from the sky but with all thier I.E.Ds and car bombs!

What the present strategy is doing is that it is creating more hatred towards the Americans and Taliban and other warlords/militants are using this hatred to recruit more people into their fighting forces. At least ten new militants are born for every innocent person killed.
