How will my husband get his orders in the Army for his first post?

I am just curious. Do they sit you down and tell you? Do they just give you a letter durring mail call? Do they send an email?
I just want to know because my husband is in AIT and this will be his first set of orders to go to a post. I am kind of scared that we will not know what is to come until the day we have to pack and move.
Does anyone have any advise?

He can also check on both his ERB and his AKO -- he should know what this is. A lot of times, orders will post on AKO. On the main page, look in the bottom right corner for ASK (called the Ask Key), click on it, then go to the tab that says something like "on assignment" -- check this regularly. His orders should post there. If not, the Platoon Sgts will let him know when they have word from branch about where he is going.

They will pass out orders at graduation time. Most people know in advance where they are going but a few might have more than one possibility. You will be given travel time and after AIT you can usually get your first leave time so it shouldn't be a very big deal. Just be prepared and packed ready to go when the time comes.
