How would I go about turning in an soldier from the US Army who went AWOL during basic training?

You should know this: Follow your change of command, Soldier!

If that fails, go to see an army lawyer--not the MPs. (It's like going to police, when you should be going to see a lawyer). The military attorneys will have protocols to follow while protecting your rights (possibly your privacy).

You are doing the right thing. If they didnt want to join the Army than they didnt have to, they chose to and once you do you are govt property...you'll be doing the right thing to turn them back in...the other guy had it right though, just call any military service and they will be apprehended.

I would contact the soldiers base or a DA, somebody. Cause if it ever comes to light you knew about it you might get in trouble for not reporting it. I think you are doing the right thing! Good luck.

Call the police if he is off post. (only the Air Force Actively looks for AWOL Service Members, the other services wait for the local law enforcement to pick them up, people who go AWOL then do make bad choices and get arrested)

If he is on post call the MPs.

good to go, yea the local PD might or might not have an interest in it, better luck contacting the nearest military facility, or just gimme a call and i will give that coward a well deserved beating, and then drag him back to basic myslelf.

Call any Military Installation. MP's will be dispatched to retrieve him.

Go to a local recruiter or mp tell the name and location of the soldier that went awol,they take it from there.

First of all, call the police about the AWOL dude. Second..... You have no idea when, or if, you are going to Iraq. There are 11B dudes out there who have been in for 3 years and not gone over there. You main problem should be getting through basic and AIT, then worry about where you are going.

Call an Army recruiter. It will be the easiest way. He can either put you in touch with the right people, or take the case on himself.

Please don't call all of us wimps. I served 6 years. A few of those in hot, sandy, crappy places with people shooting at me.

I am not sure if I would bother. She is probably already a wanted person and won't have much of a life until she turns herself in. (if it is a guy then "he")

Encourage the person to turn himself in and give him the chance to do so.

Why do you want to turn him in? Do you think there is a reward for doing it? Why don't you go to the recruiter and join the Army in his place? Then you can go to Iraq or Afghanistan and get your balls blown off.(If you have any!)

First of all....why?....There is no "finder fee" for it....But if you want to and sure he is....Call the local cops. It would show up when they ceck his name and birth day for warrants. Have a nice day.

Here's a better suggestion: go on down to the recruiting office, and offer to go get YOUR head blown off, instead. There! Problem solved!
