That is exactly why the US got involved, thanks to FDR. He did not want to deal with either a Nazi or Communist Europe. I really feel that Germany would be defeated, but it would have dragged on for a longer period.

so if america hadn't have joined us they would have joined us is what your saying. But if they hadn't joined at all i recon there was a good chance we would have survived, the russians were already causing them major problems and to invade the UK would have taken a lot of men and machinery which they did not have available in France. Also Hitler never wanted to invade the UK because he liked the UK and its empire and wanted to create one just like we had (together we would rule the world!) so they probably would have left us alone and concentrated on Russia. However the world would definately be a different place if it wasn't for the USA, it was them that broke the stalemate in europe, if they didn't join the war probably would have gone on for much longer

What the Americans here don't realise is that Nazi Germany offered the UK a deal. We (the Empire) didn't have to get involved as Hitler promised to leave the British Empire alone (whether he could be trusted is another matter), along as we stood aside.
However, King George VI & Churchill said no deal. Infact the King was quoted as saying he would rather lose the Empire than let Naziism walk the face of the earth unchallenged.
Another thing Americans may like to look into was 'who exactly were the Bund & who in Congress / the Establishment supported them?' To give you a starter ...one of them had them the surname Kennedy.

Long before the US joined the war officially. Many Americans were fighting side-by-side with the Brits. Americans volunteered to serve our friends and fight Hitler.

Americans have never needed their government to tell us what is right and wrong. We stand up for what we believe and always will. England may have staved off the German army and defeated them without America help. But they would have done it a very high cost of British lives. It not what would have happened, it's that we did and have continued to stand up and support each other in the faces of many enemies. And we will continue to.

All europe wiould have been united under a common government known as the UE Union European, and we would have driven on the right.

Before we actively joined, our Navy was already doing escort duty. Without the food we shipped and teh arms and ammo, you would be speaking German right now.

And the thing that really kept the Germans from invading after the Battle of Britain, the fleet. It wasn't so much the luftwaffa getting spanked, the Germans knew your home fleet would have stomped them flatter than a pancake.

it's hard to say with so many different factors at play, my guess is that Britain would have been worn down negotiated a reluctant truce with Hitler as he still had respect for Britain. eventually becoming a satelite state. Did Degaulle really tell Americans to get out of France in a week? did'nt realise he was so ungrateful!

Well yes England had a good chance of staving off a German invasion (thanks to their precious Home Fleet and Royal Air Force), and yes the Russians slowly but surely bled the Germans dry fighting Kursk-type battles... but the war would be extremely protracted with many more casualties on both sides (holding your own does not a victory make).

As to invading Germany through Italy...that first assumes you defeat Rommel in North Africa, which despite el-Alamein would have been highly unlikely had there not been a second front via French North Africa to divide his limited resources (which I seriously doubt the Commonwealth could launch on their own even with USA lend-lease).

And another thing...the Germans declared war on the USA shortly after Pearl Harbour...so they would have gone to war against them regardless unless the USA chose to ignore it (which I highly doubt).
