Well, for one we'd be at war on the home turf. For two, I assume most people would fight off invaders, like any human would generally defend their home land. For three, why are they invading us? If our government practically turned us into slaves and the Russians were coming to restore our freedom, I'd welcome them with open arms. If they were just trying to take over, I'd make them paid in blood for every inch they took. |

there'd be a lot of dead Russians |

See the movie - Red Dawn. No way a foreign invader would ever survive the guerilla warfare that would erupt forever. |

Probably, but Russia would be in worse shape. |

"You could never invade the US, there would be a gun behind every blade of grass"

the russians are to smart to invade |

With the amount of guns we have, you'd see alot of dead Russians.
Ken S - You are an idiot. I'm a liberal. If the Russians invaded and try to destroy MY country, they'll be meeting my guns and my bullets. |

I agree with Rob lots of dead Russians. |

it would be very difficult to try a conventional ground forces invasion in USA. anyway, that's old school. it's a high tech world now. |

No one would get to us. They would have to run a gauntlet across the sea of submarines, bombings, planes and ships all sinking the soldiers. When they finally arrive we would have the entire coastline heavily defended(and considering that we have the best air force) we would have air supremacy or at least be able to protect our soldiers. Civilians would be removed back and trained while the military holds. It would be a massacre.
The only way anyone could win would be A. to invade from a staging ground around us(aka Mexico, Canada, Cuba), or nuclear weapons(in which case i hope our Anti-balistic missile systems are good). |

Now consider the last time there was a war inside our borders, the Civil War. The Confederate States considered the Union an invading nation and fought one of the bloodiest wars in history. Old and young alike fought side by side despite a lack of supply. Spirit allowed the brave men to defend their homes and families against the invader for 5 long years. I believe a future invasion would be very similar except the fact that we would be fighting together against a foreign nation. There would be a lot of dead Russians. |

the liberals and democrats would side with the attackers in the name of peace. it would be up to the rest of us to defend our nation. |

300+ Million Americans, 200 Million guns, 2 Trillion rounds of ammo.
Just how long do you think the Russians would last? (Look up "levee en masse" in the Geneva Conventions.) |

Initially I'd suspect a great deal of shock, anger and destruction as we would in no way be able to prepare for such a thing as civilians. Over time, however, I suspect that the U.S. military forces and civilian fighters would merge and create special guerrilla units capable of striking enemy posts and then quickly retreating into the countryside. Technology wouldn't mean a thing when you're being harassed by hit and run tactics. |

Now are these Russians , Russians or Americans dressed as Russians ? |

They remain in no position to threaten us beyond a nuclear exchange- not very desirable to either side. Frustration levels have not nearly peaked to this extent barring an insane leader, which they do not seem to have. Any real threat would be like tossing hand grenades in a closet. |

Things would go really bad and the economy would collapse. Being a democratic society, we are not the best prepared nation for a homeland battle like that. In a communist society people are more prepared for something like that since the government commands the entire nation to battle and really, there is no such thing as citizens just soldiers in communist countries. In the U.S. the government commands 10% maybe of the U.S. population to war and everyone else is citizens. Do you really think the average New York business man who makes millions of dollars can suddenly become as in shape as a regular soldier and either evade or fight the attackers? I doubt it. Some people have guns but without the organization of an army, people will panic and be completely uncoordinated in the attack being less useful against invaders. Even real active duty soldiers sometimes get afraid and go AWOL. Don't you think the average citizen will be at least 100 times more afraid and run away more often? |
