If the missile carries nothing but a Satellite payload? That would make it tough to justify a military response let alone a nuclear retaliation. Are you folks saying it would have a 'device'? We'd have to explain to the Chinese that N. Korea needs to be dismantled. So sorry but it would have to be done. Don't plan on us creating a democracy even if we went to war & kicked the crap out of them, which would not be a fun nor easy task. China would prefer a communist state there & that might be a sacrifice we'd have to accept in order to attack N. Korea & not have to fight the Chinese. Kind of sickening, isn't it? |

obliterate the entire country, and after their land is scorched black, clean it all up, plant trees/plants/and wildlife, then sell the land to south korea, for a profit. |

with Obama as president, we'll probably except there apology.
If I were in charge we'd make a list of all the countries that want to **** us over, like north korea, iran, ect. Then I would say if a weapon of mass destruction goes off in the u.s. I will personally wipe you off the map. |

If it strikes Alaska, I think a few thousand bombs would do the trick. No ground forces needed, just bomb every government building and military installation to dust. |

unleash the gates of hell upon them...mmwwauuuuhhhhhh

that is what the nukes are for..
In reality I would expect a large bomb/missle attack on all of N Koreas bases. |

The soldiers at Fort Greeley would launch a missile to destroy it before a missle could ever actually strike Alaska. |

I say nuke the mofos and give them a taste of what they gave us... Alaska is a beautiful place it would be terrible to destroy it |

Say bye-bye to North Korea..... |

My guess is North Korea will have one sent back towards them. Hopefully, nothing happens. War is stupid and unnecessary, innocent lives are taken daily. Enough is enough. Support the troops, but not war. |

Depends on what they hit. If they drop it into the wilderness, I'd settle for obliterating the launching pad. If they hit anything valuable, obliterate the launching base. If they kill people, obliterate N. Korea's entire rocketry establishment.
Obviously, if they were to, in some moment of supreme insanity, drop a nuke into Alaska, then all bets are off, and their country's entire military should be obliterated. |

A rather interesting question.
One would normally say send in the military to kick their *ss. But that isn't really feasible anymore, as it costs too much at a time when we have already spent trillions in two wars and may be about to spend trillions more to fix the economy.
Yet sanctions seems like way too small a response, and would only really serve to make us look weak.
But as we would have a real reason to go after them this time, and not some made up reason that too many of our ally countries could see right through, I suspect we would have much better ally support than we did for Iraq.
In the end, I would say we should handle them like we did Iraq, only this time put in enough troops to actually handle the job. Unlike Iraq, however, other countries would see that they weren't being lied to this time, and hopefully they will back us up. If not, then the situation would call for an IMMEDIATE end to Iraq, and moving those troops to taking down North Korea; no matter what that means for Iraq. |
