For me yes and no. How long have you been apart? You know them but its like I had to learn him again. At that point you dont really care your just so happy they are home.

Absolutely... Even if he's gone to school for a few weeks or months or returning from a deployment, I am always nervous... It's hard to admit sometimes, but time changes people. Enjoy your reunion!

Well actually you'd have to ask my wife this question but from my point of view there were no problems of awkwardness. It got easier as the number of separations increased over the quarter century. I would say there was an excitement rather than awkwardness. You know, 'How do I look? Is my hair okay? Is my skirt too short or long? Should I have worn flats instead of heels?' There's a million of them that could possibly cause the feelings you have. My advice? Relax and remember the guy you said goodbye to. He's the same but he's a Soldier now! Good luck to the both of you and thank you both for your service.
