I don't think you are too old at all. You can try signing up for it and see what happens. sorry i don't know much about air force but I am pretty sure it's not late for you. I think it's great that you are taking control of your life. Good luck!

no. you're just right. go for it. how much college have you managed? two years would be good. you can expect a lot easier basic than any of the other services. air force is technical, not physical. use your education to the best advantage.

You are certainly not too old to join the armed forces. I am currently in Iraq with the Marines. It depends on how the basic training school is right now, but I had the option of leaving as soon as two weeks after my physicals were done, which took about a month. If you really press them, you can be shipping off to training within a few weeks or so. Chances are you will probably come to Iraq, but thats to be expected in a time of war. The benefits and the good times you will have are certainly worth it!

No... I think they have upped the maximum age for joining the military to the early 40s.... used to be 35....

22 years old is young. Air Force training is easy and you will have many opportunities. Go for it!

The ideal age to join the military is around 21-24 or so.

Being younger just means you have more potential years of service. Typical 17-18 year olds who join tend to have a hard time of it. They usually have less life experience and maturity.

It is never too late to fulfill your goals. There are baby boomers in their late fourties and fifties who are going back to school to finish their masters or go forward with their careers. If you don't try, you will regret it. In actuality, no one held you back except yourself. Now is the time to go after that dream.

Don't know about your last three questions, but my sister joined the Air Force at 27. I'd start with giving the recruiters a call. With the war, I don't think the age limit would be *lowered*, and you haven't mentioned what your wanted to specialize in.

If you decide to join, I hope you find what you're seeking. It's an honorable pursuit, but takes a lot of commitment. Good luck!

To join the Air Force, the age limit is 35, so you've made the cut off date for sure. If its your dream, DO IT! Dont let other people hold you back, you dont want to be 50 thinking about what you could have/should have done.

my husband went in when he was six months from being 21....he has been in the last 19years and five months..so no i dont think you are too old...i think you should join if you regret not doing it in your past the only way you will make sure you dont regret it in the future is try it...good luck

NO 22 is not to old. My husband was 22, but i was only 19. It is very unlikely that you would get killed in the air force anyway especially since you are a girl. You can still go to college while being in the air force. im taking 2 classes right now. It varies on how long you will have to wait to enter bmt. It could be a while.

Going to college and then enlisting might be a good idea. Mostly for the fact that your college degree will get you an officer's pay instead of just being enlisted! It pays to be smart!
My dad, my husband and my nephew were all in the air force. It's a great way of life, but you also don't have a choice of which base you want to be at, which can also be bad. My husband was in the air force for 22 years and he was stuck in ND for 2 tours of duty and they wanted him to pull another one when he was in for 22 years and he finally retired. We also got stationed in England, Germany and Siclly too. It really was nice. My nephew is in Alaska right now. You can also see the world by working on a cruise ship or work for the airlines. No, If I remember correctly 27 would be the cut off unless it has changed sometime. You can always talk to an air force recruiter.
