Absolutely! The Navy and Air Force take only brighter people, so you won't have to live with so much ghetto trash, but there will be some. |

If you can go to college, do that. That is way better then going into the military.
If you do end up going to the Navy, pick a real job. Not something you can just do in the Military. Do not choose the Apprentice programs. You will be stuck washing toilets or washing a jet for 5 hours in 0 degrees weather all wet with an agent that gives you rashes and eats your skin.
When you get out of the military, people only see Navy under your experience. They don't really see the job that you did in there. Just FYI.
I was in the Navy. I am so glad I am out. It is very hard to get a job when you get out. They only saw Navy as my experience. I was an Aircraft Technician on F-18s. I ended up going back to college while working doing sales. I am now an Network Engineer. I should have just finished college in the first place instead of dropping out for the military. The military just put my life on hold and was more of a set back then something that helped me. I am 25 years old now. I got out 2 years ago. |

If you feel comfortable with going go ahead but if you dont feel comfortable going dont because once you sighn those papers to go theres no turning back. Get a sheet of paper and divide it in half. On one side put reasons I should go, and on the other side put reasons I shouldnt go. If the reasons that you SHOULDN'T go "out number" the reasons you SHOULD go then DONT GO!! |

If you ask that question to complete strangers, than no, you shouldn't join. |

I don't think you should do it. You see, if you have to ask here you're most likely not mature enough to be in the navy. |

No!!! Join the Marines, we may be a department of the Navy, but it's the Mens Department. |

omg! think about your family and the risks you are taking. make sure you're ready, and more than that, that your family and loved ones will be ok if something happens to you. and if you do it, thank you for fulfilling the duty of a citizen that so many of us don't bother to fulfill! |

I'm for and against war.
If you are going to protect the lives of others, do it. But if you think Bush's, sick, twisted ways are helping your good country, don't do it and realize hes ruining your country and murdering millions of a stupid argument.
Do what rocks your boat but make sure your doing it for the right reasons.

Go to a two year college and then decide, or go to a
four year college and then become a navel officer. |

Its your choice just make sure that you think about what will happen if you do it and what will happen what you don't how your life will change, how it will get better and worse |

It really depends on the individual. It won't be easy, in fact it will most likely have the best and worst memories of your life.
Are you looking at it as a permanent career or for the short term (4 years)? |

If you're really not sure...then don't. If you change your mind completely and are happy to join, they'll have you. If you join and change your mind...well. |

Navy, Air Force, Marine, Army.. whichever will be GOOD for you.
I did it and I never regret the decision.
If everyone had the dignity to defend this country, we would be in much better shape. There are so many WIMPS in the USA today that we will soon be loosing our super power position in this world.
I thank you for your future service. |

Depends what else is going on in your life. I was going to join the seals and I was down to just the sig. and I decided to bail out. Made the recruiter mad but he will live. It is a life changing choice just make sure you are ready. |

Yes absolutely the navy is wonderful and it will change your life...
make sure that:
1: its your choice
2: you understand the commitment
3: everything the recruit promised you is in writing
4: this can become a carrier which sets you up for retirement and never worrying about anything as long as you live!
5: you will pay SO MUCH LESS for everything you ever buy on base... haul in the loot and live on base buy fun things but save save save...
6: you could easily have 1mil at retirement invested wisely from your military carrer |

I agree with JS...mostly. But consider this as well: You must prepare yourself to be separated for long periods of time from your family, including a wife and any kids you may have down the line. If it's OK with you not to be there to witness each of your kids' milestones, and to see them grow up via webcam and/or photographs, then go ahead and join. This is not meant to be a discouragement, but just a statement of a reality you could possibly face. The benefits and experience are second to none, but there's a definite trade-off involved regarding your personal life. |

Wow, talk about not enough information. The Navy is a great thing for many people to join. For others, it will delay you getting to what you really should be doing. Ask yourself if you have considerred all of your options and if the Navy will provide you the best future. Of course, if you have an desire to fight for your country, certainly factor that in as well. |

Yes, do it! We need more guys in the military, voluntarily. And if you do, thank you for your service. |
