I'm leaving in a couple of days. I'm married with no kids. I know you get paid on the 1st and 15th. Since I'm married, how much will i get paid on these days? I know you get paid more but how much more? And also when do I receive my first half of my bonus?

You are entitled to a monthly Basic Allowance for subsistance BAS ($323.87) and with dependent Basic Allowance for Housing BAH. To find your BAH rate enter your zip code and rank in the website below:

What you need to do is take your base pay and add on what your BAH level is for your current zip (both can be provided by your recruiter). Then you have to factor in loosing between $100-$300 in taxes. Take that and divide it in half. Keep in mind that you will probably have to wait a month before you get your first paycheck but your spouse can use base facilities as soon as you ship and she gets an ID. You get the first half of your bonus a few weeks after you finish AIT. |

i am not for sure if you get paid more when you are married and in basic, i was a military wife and my husband was in Korea he got paid more because he was deployed, but you should receive the first half of your bonus either within the first 2 months or after completing basic, it just depends on how fast they process your paperwork! but your spouse is eligible for bah, make sure you request that! |
