It is more than possible it is almost certain, dont believe the lies that Tory Liar and the other scotsmen in charge of the country are putting out. |

I doubt it seeing as Iran changed the GPS coordinates from what they had originally reported. Plus would you trust a country that held a Holocaust Denial Conference last year? |

I don't think so because of two things - well three - first, with GPS, there is proof of where they were, and sattelite imagery, and if they WERE in Iran waters you can bet your **** that someone would have published those pix by now, second, Brit would not be weenie about it - they'd say yes we were there eat me, and that's all three reasons. he he. |

it doesn't matter where they were Iran would have taken them anyways. It's all political |

It is possible and would be embarrassing, but persionally I don't think so and to be honest the only thing that I am worried about is them coming home to their families. |

I'm British to but if they weren't carrying bombs or an arsenal of weapons then what difference does it make where they were have a look at my last question |

The British troops went illegally into Iranian waters when the Iranian Revolutionary guards, kidnapped them and forced them into Iranian waters, and on to Iran. Forcing them into Iranian waters was illegal, going into Iranian waters was illegal, but not on the part of the British troops, but on the part of the Iranian revolutionary guards who forced them against their will. |

No, not unless we have allowed them to annex Iraqi waters. |

It's possible, but according to the GPS co-ordinates the Iranians gave to the British Navy, they were NOT in Iranian waters; that is, as far as the British Gevernment is concerned. Iran thinks they own all that water over there anyway...it's the second most important commodity next to oil for them. Tony Blair would probably admit it, but Winston Churchill would have blown a hole in their hind end by now. |

Is it possible? Sure. But while I hope that the sailors and marines were in Iraqi waters, I have yet to see convincing evidence either way. I just want the situation to be resolved quickly and peacefully. |

I feel they were yes
And thats why in past 2 days the british goverment has softened its tone a little, i doubt very much that every single one of them would admit with so much detail their version, when they are released which im pretty sure they will be, that will be something to see if these sailors are told to keep quiet or admit they were wrong and they did go in their waters.
Whatever the outcome going in with brutal corss words wasnt a good thing for british goverment to do.
Tony Blair says hes disgusted with how the prisoners have been diplayed on tv but it seems he has a short memory, what about saddam being paraded on tv what about iraqi prisoners being paraded on tv.

There's 14 male sailors/marines and one female, you don't need to be a brain surgeon to know who was reading the map! Joke ladies, just a joke! |

Of course it is possible! The government would never admit it if it were true. I take everything governments say with a pinch of salt. They always say what looks best for themselves. I don't know how any intelligent person can take what any government says at face value, they've been found out in so many lies. |

I believe the British sailors and marines were captured in the disputed part of the Shatt-al-Arab waterway. This has been a long running dispute that was a contributing factor to the 1980 Iran-Iraq was.
To halt and board ships in a disputed area of water is a rather imprudent act and risks provoking a military response from other parties to the dispute. |

Of course its a possiblity. And quite frankly I don't trust the British government to tell the truth anyway. If they were prepared to lie about the reason the UK is fighting Bush's war, then why not lie about this too.
If they were there, then I believe it was probably just a mistake. But the Iranians are a bunch of mad b@stards and were probably just waiting for someone to put a toe into their water, just bad luck it was us. |

After the vanishing weapons of mass destruction capable of hitting a major British city in 45 minutes, anything could be possible! I think someone ought to be over there asking any passing fish if they'd seen what happened! |

I doubt it.
They would have known not to stray and the GPS would have told them where they were.
Also think about what one of the captives said - He was pointing at the map and said "This is where we were captured, in Iranian waters APPARENTLY."
If they were going to go in Iranian waters, they would not have done it in broad daylight. |
|

Wee Bit Naughty

I don't think so. They have confirmation via the satellites as to where they were. Also, the last ship that they searched confirmed their location as being in Iraqi waters, also via GPS navigation. The Brits did nothing wrong. |

Anything's possible, but Iran has no credibility whatsoever, and they are using this situation politically, which is wrong. |

territorial waters are different 2 land boundaries.
short of being there & seeing 4 myself
i can't see why they would have been in the wrong place.
which begs a question
is this all political?
it's just i hear that the americans have been holding some iranians, caught in iraq & have done 4 a while now.
an exchange has been ruled out
& the reasons why not, hasn't materialised, yet.
i'm not sure we're getting all the facts.
we're are but mushrooms.

If they were inside Iranian waters, the Iranian government would have said they were inside, while the British government denied it.
If they were outside Iranian waters, the Iranian government would have said they were inside, while the British government denied it.
I don't know how we're meant to work it out!
Oh Faddy, Saddam was guilty of a little more than an immigration offence - it's hardly the same thing! |

Yes. Blair insists they have satellite photos to PROVE they weren't -- but he hasn't released them.
Why Not? Maybe they don't exist is one good possibility.
IF he had them then releasing them would obviously settle world opinion as to what happened. So why wouldn't he ????? |

no they were not they know what they are doing for goodness sake. It was a setup and those unfortunate Sailors were the bait!!!!! |

It's something that we may never know. But one fact is they should never have boarded that vessel and taken prisoner these sailors.
The Iranian government leaders are trying to put on a show for it's people to keep them from over throw them. And, trying to play a bad hand of poker to get whatever tokens they can from this. they're playing their hand rather badly. |

I wonder how Britain can show the GPS coordinates of where these sailors actually were. Surely the GPS devices used by the sailors are now in the hands of the Iranians and they have checked the positions on those devices. Did the Iranians hand the GPS devices back to the British? |
