yes - there are thousands of men and women enlisted in the military that aren't citizens. you do need your green card. talk to a recruiter - they'll square you away.

Yes it is possible I was a Canadian citizen with a green card and I joined in 2002. You will be able to get citizenship a lot faster in the military too. The only disadvantage is you can't do a lot of jobs requiring security clearance. Go in undesignated so once you get citizenship you can choose a job you were ineligible for as a resident alien, if you are certain you want to join the Navy. Good Luck!

If you have a green card, then yes - you can join. My husband had a green card and was not a citizen and he joined the Marines. Not only can you joing, but being in military service automatically qualifies you for citizenship and the process is easier.

When I was in the Navy in 1988-1992, I had a friend who was a British subject, and worked with a man who was a citizen of some country in Africa. So, yes, it is possible. Contact either the US consulate in your country or the nearest US Navy recruiting office. There is probably extra paperwork involved.

yes you can join and after 2 years of service you will gain citizenship but you must me eligible physically and you will have to do some immigration type paperwork first
