Honesty is always the best answer for these questions. If you only tried it once and it wasnt yesterday then you should not have a problem with honesty. On the other hand, it leaves your system within 96 hours as long as you are not a chronic user and would not be detected on a urinalysis if it was done over a month ago. In the Army's core values the acronym is LDRSHIP. The "I" is for Integrity, which is to do what is morally correct even when no one is looking. Wish you the best with joining. |

Do you really feel the need to confess? Go to church and confess and then forget it unless you intend to keep doing it.
The marines will make a man of you and you won't need weed or any other artificial stimulants.
Thank you for your intended service to our country.
We need more like you. |

Integrity is the first step in becoming a Marine. Tell your Recruiter
and get away from your buddies that influence you! |

If you haven't taken the drug test yet at MEPS, then you need to tell your recruiter so he can give you a test before you go to MEPS. We have the little kits where you dip the stick and it will come back with results for THC, Opiates etc...
Smoking weed isn't a disqualifier. Just make sure you are clean when you go to MEPS.
Not telling your recruiter, and coming up hot on the MEPS test will screw you big time.
Usually, depending on your weight, you should have most of the THC out of your system in about 4 weeks if you only smoked a little. DRINK ALOT OF WATER.
In my experience, someone that says they smoked "about a month ago", means last week... so make sure your recruiter checks you out before you go to MEPS. |

Tell your recruiter. That's all there is to it. There are things Marines hate and some of them are liars and cheats. |

you should definitely tell him, if you just tried it, you should be okay. i told my recruiter that i tried it, and he was okay with it..no waiver or anything was necessary....but it's good to be honest with them. |

Tell the truth. At least you can pass a piss test now but still, be real with your recruiter. |

Tell them. Previous marijuana usage does not disqualify you. |

Be honest with your recruiter and it will save a lot of wasted time. You might even still be able to join cause they can send a waiver to let you in and ignore your crime. |

Yes. If it was your first time and it was an experiment it should not impact your ability to pass a background check. You will need to wait about three weeks to clear your system. If your you used MJ over some period of time you may want to consider what you share with anyone. |

it wont show up and you would be foolish to say anything, just dont do it again. |

If that was your first and only time, then it probably won't be an issue. The only problem is how recent it was, that might look bad at MEPS. |

since it should/or almost be out of your system...then no need to feel guilty....keep it on the hush!! |

Get a haircut. If you just tried it once a month ago, it should be out of your system, except your hair. If you are serious & are not tempted, & really want to be a marine, just do it. If you had an addiction, that would be different, but one j won't & shouldn't kill your aspirations.
I said cut your hair, because, as someone below me already pointed out, you have probably gotten rid of all other traces.
A hair will hold everything that goes into your bloodstream, & be able to tell you when you smoked as well...
Why I get 5 thumbs down for saying the same things others said, I don't know... |
