Navy or Air Force. They are constructive and will make life out of service easier. They provide college and they focus on teaching you a skill or trade that you can take into the world outside of service. The Army is good but for a better future, those two are better. |

Join the Air Force or Coast Guard. Joining the Army is probably a waste of your talent. If you join the Army no matter what your MOS is, you will surely be shipped to Iraq.

This isn't a decision a bunch of strangers can make for you. Joining the military is a very important decision that only you can make. It's a committment. The military will OWN you for the duration of your time with them. You will not be free to behave as you please. You will always have to answer for your actions. You are held to a higher standard.
Your country needs you. Do you have what it takes to represent your country?
The fact that you're asking tells me that no, you don't. Those who join know for the most part that it is something they're going to do, regardless of what it means. There ARE others, who join, who do not fully comprehend all it entails to be a member of our armed forces, who want to get out before their time is done.
Find out all you can, from people who are already serving, or those who have served, before making a decision.

the Army is the most active and largest part of the United States Armed Forces and if you want to go into it i would say it is a good idea. However, if you want to make a career in the military go for the Air Force or Navy as they don't do as much front line work and should be safer by a fair margin. If you can make it i would suggest the marines if you just want to do service but if you really want to get in it go for the Army as they are the the most active.
Currently i am 15 years old and plan to join the Army National Guard because it fits with what i want to do which is (11b) Infantry and then Infantry Officer as well as teach math at school. I contemplated the Marines but i don't know as much about their reserve unit. Also i enjoy helping people and the National Guard is the unit that gets called up for Natural and National Disasters. Whatever you choose is up to you, but i suggest you do some reasearch before joining up. I've been doing mine for at least a year but i'm going to do it all the way up 'til the moment i join. Army, Navy, or Air Force are choices that you need to evaluate. You can talk to recruiters, but I'd also suggest that you find some veterans to talk to---try a VA hospital. They'll be able to tell you pros and cons etc... Hey- you go girl! And good luck!!! |

My husband is in the Army. I would advise joining the Air Force or the Navy. The Air Force and the Navy have a higher standard of living, nicer posts, and pay more. In addition, the deployment time for the Army was extended to 15 months! The Air Force, Marines, and Navy all deploy for an average of 6 months; though they do deploy more often. |

I would say that joining a branch of the armed force is a great idea however you need to take your test and get a score to see what you qualify for and make your determination off of that go to whatever one can help you out the most after your term (plan for the future not so much the present) |

You should go to college and get in to the ROTC program, and see how you like it. Plus when you graduate you can go into the service as a commissioned officer and make alot more money. Not to mention you would have a college diploma to fall back on if the military is not for you. |

I would join the air force in a heart beat. It really is up to the person whether its a good idea as some people love the military and some dont. |

I'd say go with the Navy. Seeing is how Alkayda doesn't have a navy and camels can't swim, it isn't likely you will die in conflict. Plus I hear they teach you skills that can be used in a professional business setting. Not to mention it gets you in great physical shape.
But there's service recruiters that can go over your options with you to see what would work best for you. |
