I've been so confused about what do to with my life lately. Honestly I believe in God and I pray that I'll find the right direction to take but so far I'm still lost. See I'm currently not sure what college I want to go to or what state I want to move to. On top of that I'm not sure if I should risk alot to be with my bf whom I'm love dearly or if I should forget him and move on. He's in the military so it's hard for me to figure out what to do. He's in Iraq right now but when he comes back neither him nor I am are sure where they'll send him next. Part of me wants to move to his state to be with him but both of us aren't sure how long he has left in that state. I've tried making a pro and cons list to help me figure out what to do but I STILL have no idea. I also dont know where he'd like our relationship to go. I dont really ask him to many questions like that because he's over there and I dont want to stress him out. However not knowing is stressing me out. We've been dating for a few months so I honestly feel like he should know by now what he would like to do. Does anyone have advice? Has anyone ever been very confused about a situation similar to mine?

I mean I want to talk to him about all of this but I dont want him to feel like i'm pressuring him. It just that I feel like I have two choices. One to forsake all my fears by moving to where ever he goes and go to school where we end up. Or break up with him and go to school anywhere without our relationship to think about. I honestly love him more than anything. I even feel like he's the one but I'm beginning to think that I can wait forever for him to figure out what he wants. I mean he says he loves me all the time but I need to here something else.

You...are acting like a nut case. Slow down, chill out. First, you've only been dating a couple of months. There is no way he should be expected to know where the relationship is going in a few months. Second, he is in Iraq...he's not even thinking that far ahead. Third, don't be selfish...you stressing out is waaaay better than him stressing out over your short relationship. Okay....I think you should make your own plan. Make your own decisions...everything else will be worked out or fall into place. Do not base your life on someone else's life. Pick a college and go.....figure the rest out later when you know more about what the situation is going to be. You are stressing yourself out...again....Chill...decide things for yourself like there was nobody else involved. |

My boyfriend is in Iraq right now, and I haven't even seen him since we got together. It's hard to talk to our guys who are overseas because we don't want to upset them.
My best advice is to just ask him. I had to do that with my boyfriend too. It's hard. I'm getting out of the army right when he's coming back and I didn't know if I wanted to stay here or go home. I talked to him about it and he asked me to stay because he wanted to be with me. He didn't hesitate or anything. I actually got the "Are you STUPID?!" tone from him.
It's hard. And sometimes we don't get the answers we want. But if you do get the answer you want, it's totally worth it. You gotta take a chance, and listen to what he has to say. Ask questions.
If he really loves you, then he'll have no problem answering those questions. |

Let me put this plain and simple...
If you can't handle him being gone right now that you've only been dating in 'a few months'... then you definitely won't hack it as a military wife. After this one, there will be MANY more deployments that last months at a time. There will be times when you can't talk to him for long periods. There will be other wars, unfortunately...
If you are unsure as to what you want, then it's probably best to just break it off and move on. But, be a woman and wait until he comes home. Don't be a b*tch and break it off while he's over there. I know this sounds as if you are deceiving him. But think about it. He's in a war zone. Do what's best for him and just wait til he comes home to tell him if you decide to break it off.
If you really love someone, you will do what's necessary to make it work if that means going w/ him from state to state to overseas.
