Find answers to your legal question.

I got DQed from the marines and the army...but i have a question?

i got DQ ed because of this surgery i had 2 years ago, which by the way does not affect me in any way shape or form. The army and marines both DQed me without even giving me a physical. Can't i just go to another recruiter and not tell him about the surgery?
Additional Details
the surgery was i had 10 inches of my right colon taken out because it got entangled with it'self.

What was the surgery?

MEPS is the same for all branches of the military. Your information is in the system and would red flag immediately.

Were medical records sent to MEPS or did the recruiters simply call MEPS for advice?

Give more details.

Additional Details:

As per Air Force Instruction 48-123V2,
A2.10.16. Surgery.
A2.10.16.1. Colectomy, partial, when more than mild symptoms of diarrhea remain.

You didn't mention if the Recruiter just call MEPS for advice or if you had your medical records sent to MEPS.

If you notice, it says "when more than mild symptoms of diarrhea remain" Does this apply to you?

Do you have your medical records?

All Military services are pretty similar, almost exact so I'm sure the other services regs say the same thing. So I'm only assuming that the Recruiters, not thinking, saw this and automatically DQd you.

Get your medical Records.
Get a statement from your doctor that you have no permanent effects from the surgery.

Go into the Navy or Air Force office and have them submit your medical records. Tell them which regulation to look at. It costs nothing for that recruiter to give you the ASVAB (if you haven't done that yet) and for them to send your documentation to the MEPS.

IF you get shot down from MEPS at that time, then you are done.

Let me know what happens. Thanks

You want to lie do you have no honor or integrity? The military DQ's you for your own safety as well as other soldiers. You want to risk a fraudulent enlistment?

EDIT: Natrat yes it is about integrity you can get stuff waivered. I have been through MEPS twice. Even if a recruiter tells them to lie you should do the right thing.

You are most likely DQed from all branches. Loosing ten inches of colon means that if an injury to that area occurs, there is a lot less to work with. The surgery will be hard to hide..it will show up in your civilian medical records and the scars would should when you have your physical. Lying is not the answer.

I would strongly advise against it. You are aware of the fact that they have your Social Security number on record, and what you are proposing is a crime and punishable in a federal prison?

Mrsjvb
dude GIVE IT UP. you WILL NEVER BE PERMITTED TO SERVE. besides all your information is already in the database. the second they pull up your social they will see you have been PDQd .

What type of surgery was it? Just about anything can be waivered when it comes to the military. However since theyre seeing a surge in the number of more qualified people they may not waste their time on you. Just sit down with the recruiter and talk to them about it. And even if you put a waiver in and it gets denied you can challenge it to where they have to look at the case again. Goodluck!

no that would be caught right away

you have a social security number and it doesnt change ever.

they will pull your past records and throw you out

by lying and saying you didnt have the surgery when its caught that you did again you will be kicked out dishonorably for false enlistment

good luck finding a job with that on your record

your out of luck you cant join sorry

number one: they already know so you can't lie now.
number two: LCONNER: they reject you for the most random stuff, even if you had asthma as a kid but not anymore. it has nothing to to with integrity. I can assure you that over 50% of the military had to lie about their medical records to get in...and most of the time, the recruiter told them to do it. The military is extreme and outdated with most of their requirements, processes, and traditions and it won't matter if you lie, as long as you know you're healthy.
