I got a 79 on a test at the marine recruit office?they said the i needed a 36 to pass.is that out of 100?

Oh lord, I hope you are not planning on joining...you truly need more schooling...hahaha! You must have gotten 79% by chance, not efford. If you can tie your shoes, speak English, count to 100 and have all your fingers and toes, you are a shoe in...lol. They will take anyone at this point...they need more people to fight.

that is a very good score you basicly can choose what type and how you do your time in the service good job!

Its more important to find out what you made in each section. The Marine Corps breaks the ASVAB into the following sections.

CLâ€”Clericalâ€”VE+AR+MK

ELâ€”Electronicsâ€”GS+AR+MK+EI

GTâ€”General Technicalâ€”VE+AR

MMâ€”Mechanical Maintenanceâ€”NO+AS+MC+EI

STâ€”Skilled Technicalâ€”GS+VE+MK+MC

Here is a link for the jobs you qualify for along with what you need to score on the ASVAD to qualify for the job. Check with your recruiter so he can break it down for you.

Yes its just like a grade at school 100 being the highest, if you scored that high why are you trying to go to the Marines out of all things rethink your options. It seems your're smart i would check out the Air Force trust me!

I dont know. Why don't you ask your recruit?? Why didn't you find this out before you even took the test. You probably haven't given military life much thought either.

the asvab is actually topped at 99...

but your tech skills are capped at 130 or 140 if i remember right.
