I hate the Army and I want out.?

I recently swore into the Army Reserves. I've been to drill, and I HATE the Army. Joining was the biggest mistake of my life. I love and support the military and it's soldiers, and I thought I wanted to, but I cant do it. How can I get out??? Dont try and tell me I'm going to jail, and waste my time with bs about how I'm dishonerable. I'm sorry but I just cant do it anymore and I need to know what to do.
Additional Details
Well I hate it because I listened to my recruiter and they make it sound so good and all, but when you get in, its completely different. I havn't been to basic yet, I've only been to one drill. There must be some way out.

1 - fail basic training
2 - get fat
3 - fail your pt test
4 - push your paper work through your admin personnel to chapter you out for being unfit
5 - done deal

or

Fail a piss test

or

come out of the closet before Obama changes the policy

and

Fail out of your MOS school.

G - Thank you, I almost forgot. You can get pregnant and during your pregnancy you have the option of getting out of your military contract or staying in. Choose to get out. Good call G. I would rather get overweight, and fail all events. That is what I would do.

17 - your only 17 - definitely don't go prego on us. Ya have your parents call the Army, should be a done deal, your not even an adult, shouldn't be too hard to get out. The Army is not exactly hard up right now, they have met their requirements for the next couple of years.

Should have thought about that before signing haha

EDIT: You want your normal life back?!?!?!? You're in the f*****g reserves! Give me a break. Your recruiter wont answer questions you don't ask.

USA-Hole
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get out. I don't care what you do... get effing pregnant, cut off your hand, smash your face with a hammer...

We don't want a s s hats like you in our military. You have quite the warped view on life if you really believe you can be brainwashed. That s*hits for the weak minded, and there are no weak minded individuals (such as yourself) in the military.

You want your normal life back? What, can't sleep in on one weekend a month after going to an uber cool super rad high school party at some s*it head's parent's house? Total bummer! O M G! :P

Wow... have fun working at the mall for the rest of your life since you can't seem to honor any sort of commitment.

If you signed a contract, too bad. The answer is simple, honor your contract and make the best of it and remember that false motivation is just as good as real motivation.

Edit: You summed up the core of your existence when you said for us to stop telling you to honor the contract, its a piece of paper. You have no honor, I don't want you in the damn military, you worthless piece of sh*t, just go awol than, wait until you become a deserter and turn yourself in, they will process you out of the military and you can go back to working at McDonanlds for the rest of your life.

OMG you haven't even gone thru basic and your whining like a little ***** already? You are pathetic. Your Not even in the real military your in the ******* p-ussy reserves, drilling twice a month is nothing so get over yourself because you signed that contract already so you are SOL

LOL No your parents cant not withdraw signatures, its signed and done and over with, your in the Army Now!
Toughen up!

Clay
honestly, stay in... its only for a couple of years... later on in life you may decide you want to go back in and then it will be hard to get back in or you may want some other type of job and an uncompleted contract with the military does not look good. Trust me its not that bad.

Marine5
Well young Missy...
You signed a Legal and Binding Contract...
to serve Eight (8) Years...
You will be held to that Contract...
Welcome to the Real World...

Like, No, your Parents cannot withdraw your
Signature from any Legal Document ever as
they had Prior knowledge of your joining the Service...
and besides you are an Adult in any court.

What weekend warriors too tough for you? If you quit now, you will be a loser the rest of your life.

The two posters (one being the "military wife") above me are FOOLS.

joy_gone_wild
Ok Honey, I have so many questions that would help me give you a better answer. I guess my biggest question is what specifically do you hate about your experience at drill? Did it seem like people were mean to you? Was it too boring or too hard? What is your MOS (your job) supposed to be? Is there another job you would prefer?
Here is some information that may help you out any way. If you are really unhappy, you may be able to change your MOS. Also because you have not completed basic training you may be able to get out due to failure to adapt, or at least get your contract changed so it's not as long.
As far as the 8 year thing goes, that doesn't sound completely correct. In all military contracts you have a total of 8 years of service... in a way. Your active contract should be 2-6 years depending on your MOS and any bonuses you may have gotten. The rest of the time is inactive ready reserve. It basically means that you are not in the military any more, but you have not been trained so if an emergency comes up they could recall you back to active duty. It is not common for people to be called back.
All I can say is make the best of it if you stay in. Once you get used to it, it's not that bad and it will give you a lot of experiences that will put you ahead in life.
Good luck.

golf_foxtrot_papa
If it makes you feel better, they have you for 6 drilling and 2 inactive. If you want out that bad, do it before you go through basic and collect any bonuses.

Welcome to adulthood..........that ******* piece of paper you signed was a commitment.

Oh....... your going to have to think of something better than flat feet to get out, I have flat feet and they let me in.

If you truely don't think it's for you then you should get out before you get you or somebodyelse killed if you get called up. Having done my time in active-duty, I only wanted people willing to be there to cover my back.
The easy way to do it is to go to the JAG and tell them your gay.

The second method is to go to drill, tell them that you want out and will refuse to fiollow orders. They will talk to you, threaten you but just tell them you want out and refuse to follow orders. Ask to see the JAG and tell him the same thing.

Army Girl
I've been in the Army since 1990: 2.5 years as a Reserve and been a Reg since 1992.

Joining the Reserves is like starting any new activity. You can't expect to become fluent in a foreign language in 3 hours?! You need to give it time.

When you are a pre-recruit (ie, haven’t been to Kapooka), the unit is obliged to teach you various basic skills before you get to Kapooka. They should have a training programme in place – speak with your CPL and ask for a copy of it, so you can see what you will be learning and when.

Once you've done your 28 days at Kapooka, things will be completely different. You'll return to your Reserve unit and will be able to actually undertake all sorts of training, both general soldiering and an introduction to trade-specific stuff. Once you've completed your Initial Employment Training (IETs), you’ll find the world opens right up for you.

If, after doing your basic training, you still don't want to play, then I would suggest you discharge. They make out that you can't but it's actually quite easy. Speak with your section commander, request a PE166, fill it, return all of your gear and that’s it.

If all else fails, get your mummy to take your all of your gear back and just don't turn up again. After you don't turn up for a while, they will discharge you.

Be aware, however, this course of action will have a serious effect upon your ability to rejoin any branch of the ADF (Army, Navy or Air Force) should you realise that you've made a bad mistake and want to go back.

And as for signing up for 8 years? Sorry to burst your bubble but Reserves don’t sign on for that long.

HANG IN THERE – IT WILL GET BETTER – I PROMISE !!!

Im not sure about the army, but i know in the air force, you can back out at anytime before you go to basic. As long as you haven't went back up to MEPS for your last physical and got the plain ticket. You can back out. At least in the air force.

MOMMY
I don't know how it works since you just joined but if you can't get out (and I don't see how you could unless you did something bad which I don't recommend) see about crossing over into the Air Force.

But, ya know - the beginning really is the worst for a lot of people. Try to stick it out for a while and see if it gets better for you.

get pregnant!!! they will honorable discharge you

or get hurt, or come down with a disease..

or say you have asthma...

or fake any thing that would get you discharged.

those all are reasons for honorable discharges

you could get a dishonorable discharge. but good luck ever finding a job again. 4 years of army is a lot better then having a dishonrable discharge on ur record.

Fake it 'til you make it.

Don't agree with that, but if you really want out, pretend you have some medical problems like flat feet or something. I would rather you get out than drag your battles down.

American Pie
well, atleast your somewhat beginning to think for yourself, but the problem is, your asking complete strangers what they think you should do with your life...and thats just stupid. but anyways, I say do any of the things previously mentioned to get out because the military has nothing to offer you, unless your a blood thirsty psychopath or so dumb you believe that the States needs to defend peace by bringing war to nations all around the world. heres some fun facts: Iraqi Civilians killed 123,000 US and Coalition Forces 4,700 Total Iraqis Killed: 151,971 If that doesn't look wrong to you...you are a. a blood thirsty psychopath or b. so dumb you believe that the States needs to defend peace by bringing war to nations all around the world I can't break it down any simpler than that...

Ron
Just dont go to basic. They will threated U with jail, but U are under NO obligation to go and can quit anytime before basic. In my guard unit, tons of people changed minds and did not go and were just discharged with honorable. The army aint for all people so just call that recruiter and demand to get out. They cant make you go!!!

rcctdy34
I'm in the Army Reserves and I've been on two deployments one to Iraq and one to Afghanistan and I definitely don't want to go on a third one with a coward like you.

topsoldier
Hahahaha punking out of the reserves? Did you quit girl scouts too? OMFG! Where did the recruiters find a gem like you? Did the high schools run out of real Americans and started recruiting retards? They issue helmets out to people like you for a very different reason. Don't worry. There will always be big strong Americans sent over to protect the interests of the rich. We don't need the weak. Get out any way you can. Hell, if you want, throw yourself off a cliff. Just don't complete basic training. You're the type that gets captured without a fight. Thanks for wasting the army's time, turd eater.
