The key would be to get the two Muslim sects to work together on what would be best for the Iraqis. That's the key. Once that happens then can weed out the insurgents sneaking over the boarder. This task in it's self might sound simply, but it's one of the hardest thing to do. Because religion is first on foremost for them.

BattleAX, thats a very narrow minded comment to make. I don't agree with US foreign policy either but I'm quite sure they do not aim to be in a permanent state of war. First of all, and it might seem obvious, because they have to actually be at war WITH something, which they're not. Secondly because the US has been relatively isolationist over the last fifty years, and, finally, because of the US system of government. If they make unpopular decisions they lose their positions. I will grant you there will be American's who are warmongers, as I'm equally sure that every country has it's share of these people, but wide speculative and rediculous generalisations like that do much more damage than good. Primarily to your reputation.

I think they should make a blockade. Circle the city and tell all the men, women, and children to lay down their arms and exit or else there will be hell to pay. Anyone left inside after the evac will have to cope with the shoot on sight policy as troops deploy bombs and helicopter fire at human heat sources inside the city.
