depends on where you're deployed right now....Army soldier in Iraq.....shaved off for the most part because of the heat. Afghanistan....reg. off the ears "crew" cut because it's colder there. Have fun....but do it "classy" If you're dressing like a HERO dress the part....if you're doing it as a joke, figure something else out.

Go to a standard Barber Shop and tell them you just want a regular military cut and you should be fine.

If you are going as a modern soldier, check this link out and go from there. Usually if you walk into a barber shop and ask for a high and tight, they know what you mean.

are you going as a cruit or permanent duty soldier? If you're going as a cruit shave it all off and leave scars. Permanent duty can be 1/12th of an inch long. Get a veteran to cut your hair but not a special forces they do it with can lids or flint or whatever is available. Good luck!!

Pat is right. You do not need to shave it all off or get a classic crew cut, but it is the most common. The hair just needs to be above the ears, not come down in the front, and closely cropped all around, especially in the back.

To sell the look for Halloween, a crew cut would be the best and easy for any barber.
