I need advice Army or Air Force? i'm indecisive ?

i really cant make up my mind the air force appeals way more to me personally but i need to join because i know its going to help me in the long run and its the only way i get to finally be on my own and make my own money while serving my country and doing what i like can anyone help me decide?

if you like more hand on hand combat..go Army..but if you like more technical jobs..go Air Force..by the way..hardly anyone in the Air Force will fly planes..just so you know..the only thing the Air Force has thats even close to the Army is Security Forces..which is'nt as exciting as it sounds. from my perspective.. and Military Police officers, which stand and solute people at the gates..
But the Army has more hand on hand fighting (Rangers, Green Berets) etc.
idk. you'll have to decide on your own though...go to www.airforce.com
or www.goarmy.com..and look under the careers tab..see what you like

if the Air Force appeals way more then go Air Force... either branch is just as valid an avenue of service.

Personally I'd go Marines, but that's just me...

I would go with the Air Force since it appeals to you more. However, you have to choose what you want to do. Pilot, security, mechanic, radar, air traffic controller? There are so many options. Go to a local recruiter. He can help you decide which career to choose in the Air Force based on what you like to do and your personality

Good Luck

The Marines, Army, Air Force, and Navy can all lead to a successful future.

-When you say it appeals to you, what exactly is it that appeals to you?

-Do you plan on entering as a Officer or Enlistment?

-What is the long run? Do you plan on making the military into a career or "Long run" as in after 4-8 yrs of service?

Answering those questions will definitely help anyone advising you.

Here are some brief descriptions of each branch followed by a link with any information you may need of joining that branch.(Jobs/Pay/Career/Etc)

Marines - The most physically/mentally challenging overall.

Army - The most in-service and long terms job opportunities.
http://usmilitary.about.com/od/armyjoin/Joining_the_Army.htm

Air Force - The best quality of life in-service branch.
http://usmilitary.about.com/od/airforcejoin/Joining_the_Air_Force.htm

As for the navy, i have no family or friends in the navy so i cant really comment.

I wish you the best of luck on this big decision, I'm going USMC. Oh and don't leave out the National Guard, i hear mixed things about them but never leave any option out.

I was in the Army for over 12 years. But if I had it to do over again, I would join the Air Force, the reason is because I had the same job description as a friend of mine who was in the Air Force and he was chosen for the job over me simply because the Air Force had a longer training period than the Army. Employers tend to choose Vet's with schooling from either the Air Force or Navy over the Army or Marines.

I had a similar decision, but I chose Army because it is more exciting.

I'm still not sure whether I chose the right thing.

Ive talked to ALOT of recruiters, and the Air force is more technical and more of an intelligence thing. If that what youre into then thats what you should do.
Thats where im headed. =]

My significant other was air force while I was army and we were activated. Here are the major differences we discussed:

-Army is more like a family. They care about you and your life. They show more concern, and also prod and intrude into your personal life more. I personally like this because it really makes it more like a family instead of a job. He hated it.

-Air force is more like a job. And its a job that cares a lot about your career. To a rediculous degree. There's almost a degree of perfection on the career side that is demanded. However, they don't care about your personal life. To them this is just an 8-5. As long as it doesn't affect your career or make them look bad, i.e. drunk driving, they don't care.

-Army is a lot more relaxed on the career side. Everyone is always smokin' and jokin' and having a good time. We work very hard, but we always try to make sure we enjoy it. Best friends form while truckin' mermites to the field and playing slug bug. It makes it very difficult to seperate work from day to day.

-Air force offers a lot less by way of bad *** training. It's really much more a job than anything. Army is always willing to send you off to awesome schools.

Well it depends on what you really want to do.

Air Force, you wont really go to combat.

Army, you more than likely will.

That's what it comes down to.

do you like sleeping in a tent not knowing when your next shower is or sleeping in a hotel with a maid.

i think a person receives more respect for serving in the army. i know ill get some thumbs down for that from you af guys but it is true.

It all depends on what you want to do. You need to research jobs that are available in each branch. Research on your own via internet or some other reliable source. Be aware that recruiters will tell you what you want to hear to get you to join. My husband just joined and is currently in AIT (specialty training) in the ARMY. He is 15F, aviation electrical. He loves it, but he spent a lot if time (about a year) researching different jobs, the requirements, the benfits, the civilian jobs that correspond, ect. AND, he studied for his ASVAB and scored really well. He had his pick of just about any job he wanted. The Air Force can offer you the same benefits, you just have to have an idea of what you want to do. If the Army and the Air Force offer jobs that are equally appealing to you then find out which branch offers the best benefits while you are in and once you get out (signing bonuses, shool allowance, ect). Another word to the wise, anything they promise you...GET IT IN WRITING on your contract!
