I plan on joining the Army Active Duty?

The mos i want is 11b Infantrymen I am going to make a career out of it so is it better to join for 4 yrs or 6 yrs and if i join for 6 years will i get a bonus my rec said i should get one for 6 years Thanx!!!

You need to take the lesser of enlistment periods. A bonus is a stupid reason to sign up for 6 years. 11 Bravo is allot of grunt work and humping in the woods. You may not like it and wish you had not chosen 6 years over 4. Besides, the bonuses sound nice but you don't get them all at once, it's usually spread out in payments over the duration of the enlistment.

once you go in you might like it but anyway you won't, but most people get a bonus once they get in

I would say go four years just to make sure it's what you want. Of course they will tell you to go 6. You will only get a few more benefits at signing if you take six. If you decide to stay longer (after your four years are up) you will gain new benefits later anyway. After four years you may want to make a change like going officer or Ranger, both of which are easier to accomplish on your way back into the army rather than on active duty. Its all up to you.
