I really want to join the Military next year, but I am not sure which branch is best for me. what do you think?

PLEASE GIVE YOUR HONEST OPINION, DON'T JUST SAY THE BRANCH YOUR IN OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT I NEED TO KNOW WHICH BRANCH BEST SUITS ME.

I really like to travel places.
I don't mind being gone or deployed for a really long time.
I would like to be a helicopter repairer/mechanic or something that is outside and keeping me and my hand busy.
I would like to make a career out of the military.
I am going in as enlisted, but I want to go to college during my career and become an officer over time.
I love meeting new people.
I don't really care about the living conditions as long as I have a roof over my head.
I really don't want to make a mistake and join the wrong branch.
and i cannot think of anything else right now, but if you have a question i will respond.

In all honesty, these traits work out in any branch, but I would recommend the Army seeing as how you mentioned helicopters and don't mind long deployments or living conditions.

I liked the coast guard. I was full time for over 4 years, and also finished college (during & after my enlistment) although I did not make a career out of the military. Either way, even if you change your mind, you can and should still go to college.

As a coastguardswoman, you could be deployed to a law enforcement 'cutter' (ship) for long periods of a time if you wanted to. Most people hate that duty, so there would be plenty of it. Also, we had our own aircraft and helicopters, although I don't know whether they subcontracted their mechanical repairs out, because there were not a lot of them to take care of, like there would be in the Army. You could also work on a small boat doing buoy work or law enforcement boardings of fishing or container ships. It isn't like the "hard core military" but you would still need to go to boot camp and wear a uniform, etc. I know that I really liked it, even though I chose to not make a career of it.

This is what you need to do. Sit down with recruiters from all branches and find out which one can offer you at least most of what you want. My husband is a Black Hawk Mechanic in the Army so I am more pro Army but you need to see which branch fits you best. He also has NCO's that have completed Bachelors degree while in and Officer that have completed Masters and Ph.D's while in. Look into what every branch has to offer and go from there.

Army and USMC have air vehicle jobs so If you just want a job, make money, and have everything handed to you go army but since you mentioned you don't care about the living conditions much sounds like you want a real challenge. If you want to be the Best, get the Best training the world has to offer then get into The best branch of the U.S. Military.if you want to challenge yourself and find out what you are really made of, get everything earned not given,including your title that will stay with you for the rest of your life, to make a difference in an Elite unit and the chance to become part of a world renowned,respected and feared fighting force, to belong to a proud brotherhood of warriors that only Few will ever become, try and see if you got what it takes to be, a United States Marine Marine.

air force the air force has planes helicopters etc. i don't think you can be an officer over time and the air force travels around the world and you meet pretty amazing people. Not many people enlist to the air force so i guess you can make something out of it, and the only war right now is in iraq so i guess you won't be deployed for the longest time but you will work with helicopters
