Just fly the Australian flag below the American flag. Its common courtesy within the US and any other nation |

Unless you put it up in Iraq, then all bets are off. |

As long as you understand how to fly them I don't care. |

Nah, i wouldnt be offended, its good to show that you love your own country, but also have deep respect for the country you are living in. |
|

dapixelator
|
No. But you should fly the Aussie flag UNDER the US flag. That is the proper way to do it. |

Why ask this ? FLY THE aussie flag above the stars n stripes and while your at it put the stars upsidedown ! |
|

There is a proper way to fly the flag. The American flag has to be higher than the Australian flag. In Australia the Australian flag is flown higher than the American flag. |

no other people in my neighbourhood have Italian or Irish flags hanging outside. |

No, I wouldn't. You are proud of your heritage and you should be. However, I would be offended if you only flew the Australian flag. I have nothing agaist Australia, but this is America. |

My brother-in-law is Australian and lives in northern VA with my sister. He flies both the Australian and US flags out in front of his house.
The Aussies have always been good friends with the US. |

Nooo man, its your own responsibility. But i dont know if its illegal in america. Its illegal for some of the countries. Illegal to fly only one flag except national holiday to some countries. i recommend to you that first check the american rules. |
|

sandolina
 |
why to offend?
just go ahead :) |

The flags should be flown together. The American flag needs to be flown closer to the front door as this is their country with the Australian flag flown next to it...NOT BELOW IT....
Please visit the Australian Army website so you can see exactly how to fly both flags and why it is important to fly them properly....
I would suggest to make your own flag with the us stars in one corner and the southern cross stars in their bottom corner....or in other words...get rid of the union jack in the aussie flag and put the usa stars in that part instead....bugger the poms...hahaha |
