What do you want to do? If you are interested in space systems Air Force and Navy (in that order) are great, Combat support go Navy. If you want to be one of the ground pounding warriors, then Army or Marines would probably be the best fit. If you want to hang closer to home and protect the homeland go Coast Guard (why does no one ever mention the Coasties?) Talk to some recruiters, don't sign anything without getting ALL of the information you need to make a decision. Consider enlisted and officer (if you have a college degree) career paths and possibility of advancement. Good Luck.

I'm not sure if I have ever seen so many wrong answers in a row. You didn't tell us what you want to do so it's kind of hard to answer you.

If you want to do as little as possible and still "serve" your country, then join the Air Force reserve and do admin. If you want to actually do something important other than paper work, look into something else. But I really can't sit here and list every job in the military without you telling us what you want to do.

Whatever you do, don't just rely on recruiters, most of them are good guys but you won't get all the information you need just from them. You will need to do the research on your own, and make sure you spend a few months making your decision.

I was in the National Guard, and it wasnt all that bad, but the National Guard doesnt get the looking up as to the Marine Reserve, you just have to decide if you want 13 weeks of basic training or 9 weeks. The National Guard will give you a bonus for certain jobs as opposed to the Marine Reserve. I hope this helps you on your decision a little bit.

Go Marines. I'm not a vet so I can't tell you why but there are SEVERAL either current marines or marine vets on answers who will give you very good reasons.

It'd be better not to join the military. But if that's where your passion leads you towards, than more power to you.

Joining the reserves, well it doesn't really matter what you do, since you only work on that base once a month. But if you are going to join a branch, I suggest Air Force. They treat you well and your bases that your stationed at are awesome, just not placed at an awesome place normally.
