You cannot take a PT Test while awaiting a profile determination. You should be on temporary profile while awaiting a determination by the medical board. Until you get the permanent profile you cannot take a PT test.

EDIT: You will be weighed in - there are no exceptions for that. Even if you can't do PT you must still make weight or pass tape.

NO!NO!NO!NO! Here's the thing, If you have a temp. profile, that will cover you until your permanent is received. You should carry it on you at all times. Remember that for every day that you are on profile, regardless of temp. or not, you have one light duty day per day of profile up to 90 days. But.... If you decide to break that profile in any way, you have voided it completely and can actually receive written reprimand for doing so. Not to mention, If you get hurt doing something outside of what your profile allows, The military does not have to provide you with medical coverage.

Why don't you just try to be Discharged...???
As I see it you are just trying to do the
least amount of work as possible...

Lets see a Profile for something, you don't say what ???
Also afraid of being Over Weight...???
Tell you what...do a Tour in the Mountains
of Afghanistan and I will guarantee you will
lose weight...and any profile you might have...

For my second Combat Tour in Vietnam...
I had a permanent Profile for my hearing...
(Wasn't supposed to be around loud noises...)
So we only fired quiet rounds...LOL

And the reason why people with a profile have a hard time is people like Marine5. Although there are people who have a profile because they don't want to do anything, most of them have a real medical reason for it. It is not that they don't want to do anything, they can't for some reason. Now on to the question submitted. There is something to remember about profiles, Temporary or Permanent. They are recommendations by the doctor to the commander of your unit. It is only a recommendation. The commander can choose to ignore the profile and make you take a PT test or whatever else they want you to do. The thing about that is, if they choose to ignore it and you get further injured, they are responsible for it and will receive a reprimand for it. Now what the Army Regulations on a profile are quite clear, if you have been on a temporary profile for more than 90 days for the same injury, temp profiles cannot go for more than 90 days, so for this requirement you will have more than one temp profile, you can take the APFT, you would just take the alternate event for the exercise that you can’t do. Once you get a permanent profile you will have 90 days or half the time of your temp profile, whichever is less, recovery time before taking a record APFT. They can however give you a diagnostic APFT the day after you get your permanent profile to see where you are at. As for height and weight, you must maintain those standards whether you are on profile or not. So being on profile, if you fail a weight and tape, it can and will be held against you.
