Hasn't America already been invaded? Everyday there is an article in the paper about someone getting mugged and robbed by someone from a minority group. So my answer is if you feel you need a firearm for protection go out and buy one, unless you have a criminal background, then you're probably one of the people I read about in the paper. |

If not I will get you one.
In the absence of local government Martial law takes effect. That means the military dictates the rules and it is usually more restrictive. If we are in a situation that requires more people to carry guns; of course they will give you one. It would have to be really bad.
I don't see this happening. |

If the US were invaded (militarily), the resulting chaos and panic would make it highly unlikely the US government would arm the civilian population. Any armed resistance would come from those who are already armed or can get arms on their own.
Any effective defense would need to be coordinated. With a large number of armed individuals, it would is hard to imagine how these individuals would be able to mount a coordinated defense of the US. There would be no effective command structure to organize armed individuals across the country. There would be no effective way to control their actions. And there probably would be no way to effectively communicate with them. And, given all of the confusion, with armed civilians running around, how would you be able to distinguish friend from foe?
This is not to say that the military is the only effective defense for the nation. But you have to admit, they have more pieces of the puzzle at the start, so they may have a better chance at doing the job.
Consider the lessons learned in early American history in the war for independence, and the early Indian wars. It may well be that the US revolutionary war and civil war were the first well-documented instances of successful guerrilla warfare. If this is true, then it is rather ironic that we are not as effective at fighting this way today.
But if the government were to arm civilians, it would seem reasonable to want to arm those who can use the weapons most effectively whatever the background of the "volunteer."

Well, if America was invaded i Doubt that someone from the U.S Government is going to show up at anyones house and just give them a weapon i would assume they would most likely be hiding somewhere else in the world with there Oil money stock piles from the recent bs".. but that aside i doubt your felony conviction would matter any either i suppose if an invasion was to take place everyone would be drafted (unless you run to canada<--which is my suggestion) but in truth theres no Real answer for this question your speaking hypothetically and im not sure what a single gun would do if they havent drafted you by that time.. i suppose your going to die anyways.. So yes follow the U.S Government and Fear for an invasion and Fear for your lives Because any dark-skinned foreign person is probably going to blow you up.. with some self sacrificial attempt at Trying to make the world a better place.. yeah yeah..
