The reasons one decides to join the military and who is the president are not related. Joining the military means taking an oath and that oath is to the Constitution of the United States.

Bush doesn't have anything to do with enlisting in the armed services for most people whom enlist. Patriotism, and family tradition has been a primary reason my son has enlisted. (My family has served as far back, as the American Revolution, concerning US history.)As far as joining, I've served my time. Were it not for my age, I'd go back again. ALL AMERICAN, ALL THE TIME!!!!!!!All gave some, some gave all. POW/MIA, YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN.

a lot of people join because they want money for college, but then they get sent to war and they get pissed at the government. If you want to join the military, be expected to get sent to war, my rother is a marine, he went in because of the war, he wanted to help, he went in knowing he might get deployed out.

I joined the U.S. Army so that I could protect the freedoms of my family and friends and the freedoms that you all have to do this. I know that I may get deployed and I will accept it if or when it happens. I am proud to serve the people of the United States America. Thanks to all whose side I serve by, no matter who the commander in chief is.

I joined the Marine Corps before Bush was president, besides, although he was the highest in the chain of command, I never saw it as serving him, I saw it as serving my country.

I don't agree with many, many things Bush has done since becoming the President. As a governor he was good. But Bush was the lesser of the two evils. As far as military goes, it shouldn't matter who the President is, it is a matter of protecting your country, your friends, family and children. It is a matter of showing your pride for the place that you were born. Just because there may be a donkey in the White House in 2006 doesn't mean there will be one in 2019, but if Americans don't join the military to support, protect and fight for our freedom, 2019 might not hold freedom for our children. If we lose our freedom, what have all our past deceased soldiers died for?

I was in the Army and there are different reasons for joining. Not every guy out there gives a **** about the government. They make decisions because of their own reasons....and it's not just college money...only 37% of soldiers use their college money.
