The US entered WWII against Germany on Dec. 10, 1942 - the day germany declared war on the US. The liberals finally showed som back bone and declared war on Germany Dec 11, 1942. What a frigging coincidence.

From a British perspective Hitler did not declare war on Britain. Britain went to war as it had various agreements with other countries to protect them if they were invaded by ANYONE. |

Probably not until Eisenhower was elected. Of course, by then, the Axis would have controlled not only all of Europe, but Russia and the Pacific, too.
We probably would've had to use a lot more than two A bombs to put out that little fire. |

Well there was a lot of support for Nazi Germany in America.
The american ambassador to London was a keen supporter of Hitler, and companies such as Standard Oil of America were giving the Germans technology such as the process for making synthetic rubber, a vital war material even when England was being bombed. |

Hitler declared war on the United states December 8, 1941. Shortly after that we declared war on Germany.
A big debate over this has been talked about for years. Would the US have helped Britain more with direct military aid and troops had Germany not done this? I think we would have eventually declared war on Germany.
THE Navy had already been attacked by German u-boats During the fall of 1941. The US had fired back on U-boats at the same time, so it was only a matter of time before we would have been at war with Germany had they not taken the first step.
Had we not gone to war with Germany until say spring of 1942 the out come in Europe could have been different. Germany might have been able to beat Russia and possibly even linked up whit forces in the middle east.
We would have helped out England but our direct help whit troops would have come later. |
