If you pull your weight and do your job, they will treat you with the respect you deserve..but if you pull the crap where you sign up and get pregnant and do nothing for 2 years, then you will be hated. This happened a lot while I was in the military. Women would join just to have children without the medical bills. |

And Nick S - Yes, female service members do get raped and some are covered up. But even as a civilian, a girl's rape can be covered up (and sometimes is). |

They will treat you like just another Soldier UNLESS you use your gender to get free stuff or special treatment. You are all soldiers regardless of gender until a female plays the ovary game and then she gets treated like the pain that she is. Don't be the command ho either by sleeping with everyone you work with and you should be ok. Work hard, do everything everyone else is doing and you will be just fine. Gender games as BS and will be treated as such. |

That depends on your attitude. Whether you are willing to work as a team mate and carry your end of the load. Finally, when you get in the thick of it, you get mean or soil your britches and start crying for your momma. That won't go over too good. So when you take your aptitude exams to determine where you best fit in, you may want to lean toward a rear echelon desk job as opposed to a grunt in a rifle unit. Most of all, when you are in boot camp, keep your pie hole shut and your hears and eyes open, otherwise you might end up in a motivation unit. You definitely wouldn't like that. I commend you on considering service to our flag however. Must not be from a Republican brat oriented family. Females fill almost every possible skill designation in today's Army. I knew some I would rather have had at my back than some wasted punk ,high on opium or black tar heroin. |

when you first turn up in your battalion you will get given the rotten jobs and not be liked by alot of the people in your platoon because they are a close nit unit who have worked together and lived together for years sometimes on operational tours around the world. The more time you spend in your platoon and the better the impression you make will depend on how long it is intill your accepted by you colleges but once you do earn there respect you will have earnt the best friends you can ask for in life. |

I think that they will treat you well. The military teaches the best self discipline so theres nothing to worry about. Plus keeping g gender segregated is another thing that the military does well. Although my preference is the Marines. |

Most of them will get along with you fine and most will be great friends and always take care of you. To comment on what Jason B said that is so untrue. Some guys are bad but you will be able to tell who they are. If you are smart about things you should be fine. I have been in for 7 1/2 years and love it. I have had some comments that have been inappropriate but you learn how to deal and move on. The best reward is all the good friends that are like my family. |
