If Iraq had WMD why didn't they use them when they were invaded?

Looking for WMD materials in the desert. Found some and lo it wasn't ever reported upon.
Anthrax, found metric tons of the stuff in and around Mosul, Tikrit, and Balad combined. Ever hear about that? Nope, wonder why the media chooses to report on only the things that will make them look better of follow their own political gain.
WMD material was found and destroyed. End of story.

Because the Iraqi Army was either destroyed, confused or refused to fight after the constant bombings by US Aircraft..This is called good planning, we prevented them from ever having a chance to use any weapons of mass destruction...Its very difficult to do anything when your communications is destroyed and your leaders are on the run.

Chemical agents were found in Iraq. Not at a level that was expected, but they were there. While i was in Baghdad, they found traces of Mustard gas on mortars.

Also, a few years back, they found a giant underground warehouse-like facility near Fallujah. It was the size of a football field. It was also empty. I never heard anything about what may have been in there at one point, but it could have been some sort of WMD. Seems like a good place to put something you dont want people to find. I dont think they've found any more of these facilities, but who's to say that they dont exist.

Groucho - You just reminded me about something from Kirkuk....I have no idea what it was, but every time we had guys patrolling in a certain area just outside the northwest end of the base, they always got sick. Made no sense. I dont know if anything "used" to be around there or what. These guys were really nasty sick too. We had guys coming back that were puking a whole lot, and it would persist for a few days.

For the same reason that in Gulf War number 1 they did not.
Each of the Bushes made it clear to Saddam, if he used biological or chemical weapons on US troops we would use nuclear weapons and had 3 Ohio class ballistic missile subs on standby for each war. He did have WMD's. I don't know what these idiots think Mustard gas is, he tried to wipe out the entire Kurdish population wish the gas. We did not find any, in my opinion because he used it all to kill a large percentage of Kurds.

Because they were well hidden and they didn't want us to know they did, in fact, have them. They were probably sent and hid away in Syria or another country, if not destroyed. We have proof that they once existed.

????? is it possible they were found ???? do we have them ???? if we did we could use them + point the accusing finger elsewhere . nothing better than an un-reported nuke to sick on someone or whatever we might have stowed away for safe keeping . all this is conspiracy theory of course , but then again we do have a lot of analysts to dream up ideas !

To embarrass Bush. Remember Saddam thought this invasion was going to be another short lived attack. The U.S. would have gotten embarrassed that there was no WMD and leave. Saddam and most of the world didn't think the U.S. would even enter the cities.

Unfortunately, the U.S. found buried fighter planes that were and as you probably know, artillary shells are much easier to hide than fighter planes. If Saddam was hiding his fighter planes, who knows what else Saddam burried waiting for the U.S. to leave.

Also WMD don't work well against a force prepared for the attack, do even if he wanted to use them, the death rate would have been low. The U.S. forces not only had bio suits for protection, they had medicine to counter the effects. The Kurds and the Iranians had neither. Those two groups were the ones Saddam was using the WMD on.

we were going in for saddam and his two rodent sons.
but, the question is moot, because now, there are wmd's in iraq, our nukes, limited theatre nukes, just the right size to silence iran, and keep pakistan in check.

Because I believe they sold them or hid them in Syria. Saddam knew if we found them, we would have just cause to invade Iraq. He did a good job hiding them though. I believe there was some WMDs in Iraq. Our CIA is not great but I wouldn't think they can screw that up, of course I could be wrong. I would like to think our President wouldn't steer us into war if he didn't feel it was necessary. This my opinion since there is no proof to say there is or was WMDs in Iraq.

Iraq had none after the Gulf War. Saddam's saber rattling was mostly to impress Iran. We did however do serious damage when with all that bombing we blew up a fertilizer truck....
