Your answer would depend on the parameters of the contest. If it's strictly ground, probably the Marines would come out ahead. If you allow the Air Force to use their planes, it's almost no contest. The Navy would have to have the right geographical setup before their primary weapons could come into play. The Army has the advantage of sheer numbers. Our military is set up as a team, each with a specific job. It would be all but impossible to declare a definite winner should they be pitted against each other.

I KNOW that the marines would win hands down!

1st. Marines - The best hand to hand combat skills per member than any other branch. Our smaller numbers would not hinder us because of the individual training

2nd. Army - They have the numbers adn equipment to overwhelm others branches.

3rd. Navy - They are not built for land combat. The Seals are great but their are only a handful of them.

4th. Air Force - nuff said

And let me tell you why the marines always over the odds! Could the Army, Navy or Air Force take out Iwo Jima? Not even if they were all working on the same side. And by the way, the Marines have the're own birds. So the air thing is out. And to say that the army is 4 times larger....do you know why??? Cause the Army is all the people that Full Metal Jacket scared out of joining The United States Marine Corps.

The army would ultimately win, in a long, drawn out battle. Neither the navy nor the air force have the ground troops needed for a decisive victory. The army and marines would gut it out on the ground, and the army has too many weapons and personnel to be defeated. I would have to assume that both the army and marines would cooperatively subdue the air force's central command in order to avoid being bombarded from the air. The navy would hardly factor in, although they could wait out the ground war, and if the air force was defeated before it took out a good portion of our naval ships, the navy and army could be a technical stalemate.

I would go with the Air force in first place because they could attack the others from the air. The navy does have aircraft, but not nearly as man as the other branches. Then I think second would be the army. They also have aircraft of their, and they are they out number the other branches. Then third I think would be the marines. They're the smallest group, but are really tough so they'd defeat the navy. Haha, Lets hope this never happens for real!

I was in the army but I'd have to say the marines first (they're trained crazy), army second (just crazy), and it's up for grabs with the navy and the airforce.

depends on the toys allowed. marines are out becaue the army is 4 times larger--but the airforce has nukes, so it depends.

I doubt the Army, Airforce or Marines can do much to fight Submarines, so i think the Navy would have a good shot, and they have planes to take on the air force.

army would come next because of the number of soldiers and tanks and equipment and training
air force in third because of just pilots and plains
marines would be last because of the "few" even though they are proud

If H.R.346 passes it will re-designate the Department of the Navy as the Department of the Navy and Marine Corps. Therefore they would we. The have superior ground forces with Marines, recon, and Seals. They have close air / ground support. And they has ships. The Army has numbers and are an occupying force. They are not designed for attack force. The Air Force has high altitude planes. But, can't defend the air fields.

oh wow.. well both of my parents are in the the military... my mom is activeduty airforce my dad is retired army. so i have both of them in my ear one screaming go blue.. the other go green!! lol.. but in all honesty i believe the marines would win. to me they are the stongest. they go through the most vigorus traing there is. where drop out rate is like 95% afte the first day of training. thats nuts so i believe that the people who are actually in the marines are really stong. & htay've proven to the worl that they really wanna be there & that they reall love their job ... they know what they're doing & they have a purpose.

2nd would probably be the army ..just b.c they have more man power && they have a field for everything. they specialize in everything.

3rd i would put the airforce... thay could hit a millon things from the air... thay secialize in air combat so they cold blow up anything...

Even for an hypothetical situation like this we would need to know the victory conditions. Assuming annihilation of the opposition as the victory condition...

I would go for a Navy victory.

Reasoning, on land the army could exploit the Airforce's inability to defend their bases against sustained ground assault using armor and infantry. Loss of bases means no airforce. The Navy would take out the Marines using their superior numbers and weaponry. From this point the Navy's ability to wage war from sea without the fear of being molested by the land troops would tilt the combat in favor of Navy.

Techincally, the Navy "owns" the Marines, so they would probably use them and protect them at the same time. Then, when the combined forces beat the Army and Air Force, the Navy's pilots would shoot down the Marines, then take care of the remaining ground forces before they knew what was going on.

But, that's just me.

No nukes allowed... the Air Force could destroy the Navy, on the surface, but not the sub fleets, the Marine corps would be toast regardless of their opponent, just to small... Air force would destroy the Army above ground level, but then they would not be able to take any land, so all in all, this points out why we have all the brave gals and guys wearing the Service Uniforms on the same side!!

In essence, there would be no winner possible, unless all you want is a body count, then the AF would get the top 'prize'

okay look the marines and the army are out cuz if we attacked them from the air with the navy and the airforce they would be anhilated. yhe airforce would win because the navy has both the marines and the navy seals and they dont fly. besides with bombers and fighters the air force would just wipe em out in a jiffy

Well Marines are part of the Navy, so I would have to say: 1)Navy & Marines (as the marines are aquatic warfare and are apart of the navy, even though there their own branch they still rely on the navy's budget. So without the navy you get NO marines.) 2) Army because of their equipment and numbers. 3)Airforce
