I'm always ashamed and embarrassed for people who think we should just stomp anyone that threatens us(America), instead of focusing on fixing the reasons WHY they want to threaten us.
Imagine you live in Somalia, born and raised there. You're born into poverty, don't go to school, and go to work at a fishery. Suddenly, the fishing business isn't making you any money and you still need to survive. Piracy is one of the few jobs Somali can get to make a livable wage. Now, I'm not saying we should just sit back and let them rob and kill us, but I think we need to be mindful of a large social problem that's going in these places.
Should we help them out and come up with better options for them than to murder and rob to make a living.
Or should we just let them continue murdering and robbing and then shoot their heads off when we catch them in the act? |

Yes he should be punished. But he's 16, and probably very poor. What would you do to feed your family?
I mean its easy for us to get up on our high horses and say he's a terrorist, but why are they doing this?
I think that at the same time we are capturing and punishing these pirates, we should also be looking at fixing the problems that are causing this.
The entire continent of Africa is in turmoil. The Horn of Africa is the worst. There is no law, no govt no anything. We need to start with Africa's govt, get the crooked politicians out, and strt from there. |
