The allies held the Nazi's off, but they had no chance till the U.S opened a second front in France. And no the pess would be to crazy over everything. |

I think with the US as it is today we would have lost!!! My son is in the military a lifer serving God and Country!!! Is he appreciated no way!!! He was home on a leave and he never says where he has been or who he is. When out with my son in law the bartender who knew him said hey hey thanks ---- for all you've done great to see you home. He went to the bath room not expecting any trouble and a national guard guy came in and blind sided him from the rear knocked him out with saying he never got any free drinks!!!
The USA must have a strong military and the news needs to stop telling all the negative!!! More people are killed in NEW YORK in a day then a day in Bagdad or Iraq!!! If we had not sent our troops in there would've been more bombings here I'm sure!!!! Think about a football game and more places that would've been bombed!!!
My son sends me pictures of the troops praying together, the people there that show their appreciation, and more!!! He is now in Afganistan (Sky Soldier) People talk about being political correct!!!! From the beginning this country was built on God. That's why all of the buildings in Washington have the ten commandments on them. Think about what the commandents are!!! ! Ten rules that all men no matter what there beliefs should live by!!
Sorry, I'm talking to much!!! something just get me going!!!! I don't feel we are a United country anymore. We need to bet back to the basics!! By coming here we are a mixture of hertiage and different backgrounds but bottom line we came here to be Americans a melting pot of all but leaving that behind have chosen to be Americans!!! |

Being an American I can honestly say that the Allies won the war not just The US but they wouldn't have without our involvement. This question can't be answered accurately because WW2 changed everything. First of all The US wasn't considered a world power before WW2 and if it weren't for our involvement in the war we might have never reached that status. Second a large amount of the engineers and scientists that helped us develop the Atomic Bomb were not born in the US and came here to escape the tyranny of the the Axis Powers, so we might not have had the Bomb to drop. I say be happy thing turned out the way they did & dont worry about what if's. |

i'm afraid not.considering all the crying that goes on about the number of military and civilians that have died. the battle of the bulge or omaha beach or during bombing raids would have had us pulling out.
we just don't have the resolve anymore.i'm so thankful for those who did were alive then. |

It'd be tough. We'd fight but I'm not sure we'd drop the bombs. Today Pearl Harbor would still tick off enough Americans to stick with it for a while and today, unlike in the 40's we have a way stronger military than any other country BY FAR! All in all it would still be a slugfest, but we'd wn hands down. |

It should, but it makes you wonder, seeing how long Iraq & Afghanstan are dragging out. Technology advances should shorten the time fighting drastically but somehow we still get mired in it. |

well first off it wasn't the US that won ww2 it was the allied forces which included the US-
however given the political corectness of today's society the a bomb would never have been dropped and it's hard to predict what all the media hoopla surrounding it would have done as far as the outcome |

good question
I do think history would repeat itself
as for who won, when a giant is woken up from a slumber it has a terrible resolve That still would hold true today
if the enemies were still the same
but the weapons would be alot different
and the need for the Atomic bomb may could be avoided
because of jets, better guns, tanks,
FYI more ppl were kiled by convential warfare then with radioactivity or nuclear weapons |

If they arrived a bit earlier, rather than wait to see the British Exchequer bled dry of money standing alone, the war would finish two years early. The USA watched Britain go broke because they wanted to kill the British Empire and create their own. They now have troops stationed all round the world. Suez in '56 was the last straw. USA broke British and French colonial domination by demanding they pull out. Now who supports Israel? I am not anti American, I am pro history and the facts speak for themselves. |

I checked, and Yes we would still win, but it would be very close. Godzilla however would not beat King Kong though, this time the Kong takes him out. Oh, and Alexander the Great? He would only be Alexander the average. |

Your question follows a a common American misconception.
The USA did not win W.W.2. ALONE
they were part of a team called the Allies.
While we thank you for your help you were not the only ones involved in WW2. |

As far as the European Theater...
Assuming that WWII was fought today, and Hitler knew know what he knew then, and knowing how the outcome would be... We would be screwed.
As far as the Pacific Theater...
We would be frigged from the word "Go"
As far as "Would the atomic bombs be dropped?"...
No, NATO and the UN would step in and point their fingers and say that the US is a very bad boy and to go to its room for thinking of such a horrible thing. |

You bet, we have way more bombs than the 2 we used. |

You as well as some people answering here seem to forget one BIG fact, which is always forgotten by the bush fans or sympathizers.
In WW2,japan and germany declared war on the USA.
The iraq war was a unilateral US agression based on disgusting lies by the white house. |
|

We won! 20 Jan 09 (Erudite)

No way would we have won. (62 years ago YES!...Not now) The USA can't beat a group of insurgents now in Iraq. And they (Insurgents) use basic weapons. |

The US would win WWII like it already has the war in Iraq.
The US is now fighting insurgents ,( the Iraqi people who were on Saddam's side.) There weren't many insurgents in Germany , most were glad the war was over . |

Let's not fight any more wars...we already have two now that the media is not doing a very good job of reporting on. Plus the fact that keeps getting swept under the rug that 9/11 was an inside job. |

Hate to bust your bubble boys but the us didnt win the second world war. Russa won the war. Sure the us and the commonweath held a front at normandy but russia front was over 3 million men. compared to to 750000 us and commonweath men. RUSSIA HAD THE WAR WON WELL BEFORE THE US LANDED in normandy. Its funny how the us media dosent point out this glaring fact. |
