I leave for basic training may 11th and basic ends up being 13 weeks...but the 13th week from may 11th is august 10th which is a monday. but graduation is not on a monday...its on thursday and friday? what day would it be on?

Your recruiter has a data sheet that has the information. Not sure if you are going to PI or SD, but PI August grad dates are Aug 7, 14, 21, and 28th, they do not give the ship date to correspond. But if you are going to MCRD SD it says Ship date of May 11th, graduates August 7th |

When I went it was on a friday, but we had liberty on the week end and also took the week end to clean the barracks and pack for our two week leave. Then we left on Monday. |

Before you start predicting your graduation date think of this. What if you get injured (happens a lot in Marine Corps Bootcamp) due to all the physical activity that you do. Trust me I know, I was in the Marine Corps for 6 years. They will inform you when you will graduate when you get there. Have fun and kick butt. Also, never volunteer for anything lol TRUST ME. Keep your mouth shut and do your time it will be well worth it when you graduate. |

You mean "boot camp". Basic training is for the Army and for Marines we go to Paris Island or San Diego for boot. You're getting way too ahead of yourself since you haven't even gotten there yet. During boot, you'll be able to write your family, friends, gf/bf prior to graduation so try not to worry about it. There are more important things you should be worrying about such as physical strength, basic knowledge, etc. Good luck and Semper Fi. |

I'm speaking from the experience of an ARMY basic training company commander so take this for what it is worth. You are leaving for boot on 11 May, but you then have to arrive at your base and in process what we in the Army call the Reception Battalion. You'll do a lot of uniform issue stuff and get your medical work done. That can take as long as a week and then on a certain day of the week, likely Sunday you will ship to a Basic Training (Boot) company. That is when you will begin your 13 weeks of training.
